I have decided to keep a diary, becuase I am a very young girl, and I should like to remember my thoughts, such as they are, when I am grown.


Moreover, I one day hope to be a debutante, and I am sure that there are things that I will forget if I do not write them all down now! For there is much planning to be done and I only have 5 years in which to do it!

so Christmas has come and gone, and now I am to be back at school for another whole 6 months! It feels like it shall be so long before I see my parents again, but I do not feel so bad because I have my brother and sister here with me, and I am not so upset now to be in Slythering rather than in Ravenclaw! It does not mean that I am not smart, it just means that I am cunning, and 'savvy' as well as smart!

I am sure that I shall enjoy the rest of my first year as much as I enjoyed the first! Even more so because now I shall know the school and the professors, and next year I shall not be so very young!

I cannot believe that my first year at Hogwarts will be over in a few short weeks. I feel properly grown up now, I have lived away from home, and even away from Holliday for a year, and I think I have managed rather well.

I am a little disappointed that I did not try out for house Quidditch team because I think it would have been rather fun, but I think I will not regret it in a few years when I am a proper lady, without all that boyish habits.

The next thing that I have to worry about are the end of year exams, I think i will pass them - at least I hope I will. I should probably go study!
