CHARITY MATCH TO BE HELD AT BEACH RESORT ![]() |
Fans of quidditch and swimming both can delight in the news that the Quidditch League’s annual charity match will be held this year at the Sanditon Resort in Sussex. Each year, the Quidditch League forms two teams of current and retired players from various professional interests. The location varies from year to year, but is not always held at a proper quidditch pitch—you might recall the low-altitude match held in the forests of Wales five years ago! The charity in question varies from year to year also; while last year’s match was cancelled due to the Laughing Plague, the charity match of 1883 donated its revenue to the First Year Fund at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This year’s match will be held on November 21st. The Quidditch League has announced that funds will go towards the Low Income Services department of St Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. To add a bit of flare to the game we all know and love, event organizers will be magically suspending the hoops and stands above the ocean waves, with _____________________________________________________________ |
a floating wooden platform on the water for the players to kick off of, which resort proprietor Herbert Fudge hints may be adorned by merfolk intermittently throughout the match! The Sanditon Resort was opened in 1883. Beside the inn proper, the resort boasts a vibrant boardwalk, warm ocean for swimming, several cottages for let, and a small zoo. “We’re very excited to be holding such a unique event!” said Mr. Fudge. He added that he expects their traditional accommodation to fill up quickly, and so will be offering modestly priced campsites as well. Those intending to stay overnight rather than apparate, take the Knight Bus, or arrange a portkey, should make their reservations by owl sooner, rather than later. Quidditch fans interested in attending can choose from one of three options—cheap seats will be available at 8s each, while the usual seats will run at one galleon. A limited number of private boxes will be available as well, at a premium. AUTHOR: MITCH QUIDDEL |
