Nothing annoyed Charles more than taking an interest in a woman later to find out she was some halfblood or middle class girl. Having been raised by two staunch blood purists, Charles would openly shame anyone who had any muggles in their intermediate family, most especially muggleborns. He also wasn't too fond of muggles with those filthy muggle nobility titles. Being an animagus, Charles found it easy to spy on and listen to the conversations of others while in his eagle form, so he decided that's how he would find the perfect woman to be his wife.

Sitting up on a tree branch over Padmore Park, the bald eagle eagerly listened to the conversations of some of the upper class folk that were scattered around the open tent, talking to family members and members of families whose houses hadn't managed to be burned down. He'd finally decided to leave his animagus form once he got tired of hearing witches gossip about the latest scandals and hearing dirty muggleborns crying because they weren't with their parents.

Flying down behind a bush—one where it would be completely possible for someone to see him if they were to pay attention—Charles shifted back into his five foot, seven inch tall self and glanced around at the crowd to assure that no one had seen him.
