Irvingly Home Goes Up in Flames
Callum Family Home completely destroyed. ![]() |
Late yesterday afternoon, residents of Irvingly's Swallowbury District spotted smoke coming from an upstairs window of one of the homes. Witnesses say that the fire spread surprisingly quickly, though little damage was done to the surrounding houses before the flames could be extinguished. Unfortunately, the house where the fire started suffered irreparable damage. The house, which was owned by Mr. Antony Callum and which was the primary residence of his mother, Mrs. Margaret Callum. Although Mrs. Callum was at home at the time, she was able to escape, and there were reportedly only minor injuries to her staff. _____________________________________________________________ |
While the cause of the fire is not currently known, Mrs. Callum, when reached for comment, said, "It was probably caused by there being so many muggles in the area. Magic and muggleness aren't meant to mix, and the poor house just combusted." Readers are assured that this seems like a very unlikely explanation, as there have been no other reports of this happening--ever--but the exact cause is still being investigated.
