UNSHACKLED AT LAST HOGWARTS’ CUFFS DONE AWAY WITH

T he young ladies of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry will have one less possession with them when they return to the castle next week. The policy requiring female students to wear chastity cuffs has been done away with following tampering late in the previous term. “Upon careful consideration and after their recent tampering, the use of chastity cuffs on our female students will cease for the upcoming school year,” said Headmaster Phineas Black of the decision. “They will not be replaced by another measure at the current moment, but students are advised to remember that any illicit activities will still be dealt with swiftly and with finality.” The cuffs were introduced two years ago after a rash of scandalous behaviour, and were intended _____________________________________________________________

to alert staff to any impropriety on the part of students. Speculation as to their continued use began to arise when female first years did not receive one with their Hogwarts letters this year. “It was an insult to my daughter and to myself when they were instigated,” said Mrs. Olivia Pendergast, founder and headmistress of the Pendergast School for Young Roses. She is among many parents in her pleasure at the cuffs’ discontinuance, believing they both disrespected the pupils forced to wear them and allowed the school’s staff to lose vigilance.
