I am her mother, of course I am fit to take care of her; how dare you suggest otherwise! As if you are in any position to question my capabilities as a parent when I would be wholly surprised if you could tell our children apart.

What concern is it of yours if I take my daughter with me? By the time you return from school we shall very likely be exactly where you left us anyway. I shall do you the courtesy of telling you that I am in Paris as I write this but will likely have moved on by the time you find yourself reading it.

Why not forget this folly, Phineas? Let's not allow things to become unnecessarily unpleasant.
