„That’s the wizard version of the story.” Lisbeth shrugged. ”There are more violent fairytales. Like in Cinderella, the Evil Stepmother makes her daughter cut off their toes and heels so they can marry a Prince.”

  

[Monty Lawrence]

"All that just for a prince? That's rather desperate isn't it?" Monty frowned, it all seemed ridiculous. "Do women in fairytales have no self-respect? Hang on...why the heels and toes?"

  

[Lisbeth Fitzpatrick]

Lisbeth couldn’t help, but snort. This comment came from an upper class boy. She was glad he seemed to enjoy this conversation though. ”Well, not in every fairytale. Why heels and toes? Because the prince found a very small glass slipper and vowed to marry only the girl whose foot will fit in. So in order to make their feet fit, the evil step-sister cut of toes or heels.”

  

[Monty Lawrence]

"Because of a glass slipper? What if it had been a child's?!" Monty said, frustration and confusion in his voice.

  

[Lisbeth Fitzpatrick]

Lisbeth and Audrey laughed. Lisbeth couldn’t stop laughing, so Miss Reed had to explain it.
”Mr. Lawrence, what Miss Fitzpatrick forgot to mention is that the Prince previously danced with the owner of the slipper and she escaped from his grasp leaving only the slipper behind. He was so in love with her, he wanted to track her down and it was the only way he could think of.” Audrey explained and went back to drawing.
”He didn’t have our magic. Every girl wants to be upper class lady, or so they say, and so the evil step sister wanted to be Princesses. It’s like being married to minister of magic.” Lisbeth added.

  

[Monty Lawrence]

"I'm very well aware of what a prince or princess is, but i think it's preposterous to cut off your own flesh. Besides, how could he be in love with her and not know who she was?" Monty scoffed, thinking it was rather stupid in all honesty.

  

[Lisbeth Fitzpatrick]

”She never gave him his name. They danced, they talked, but she never gave him his name. He couldn’t have known her, because the evil stepmother made her serve them.” Lisbeth explained happy that Monty showed interest.

  

[Monty Lawrence]

"So he fancied himself in love with her after meeting her once, is this what you're telling me!? How absurd!" Monty seemed very annoyed by this fact.

  

[Lisbeth Fitzpatrick]

„He didn’t meet her once. They met on several balls, but he never could get her name. The glass slipper happened on the last ball.” Lisbeth explained peacefully. ”He wasn’t fond of girls before. He didn’t want to marry until he met Cinderella.”

  

[Monty Lawrence]

"That's just an analogy for the fact he fell in love with someone he barely knew. I think it's dumb..." Monty shrugged, pulling his potions book towards him.

  

[Lisbeth Fitzpatrick]

„You can know a person through very few meetings. You can know than more than somebody you spent years with. It’s complicated.” Lisbeth said confident in her words.

  

[Monty Lawrence]

"I guess I'm just old-fashioned..." Monty shrugged, making notes on the work they were meant to be doing.

  

[Lisbeth Fitzpatrick]

”I’m a romantic. I wish I had love like Snow White, Cinderella or Belle.” She sighed heavily and brushed her hair with her fingers. ”But I will never be anybody’s princess. Alright, let’s go back to work.”

  

[Monty Lawrence]

"Why would you want to be a princess, when you could be so much more?" Monty asked, knowing that Lisbeth would become a great witch one day.

  

[Lisbeth Fitzpatrick]

„It’s nice of you to say that, but I doubt my parents will let me continue school after my OWLs. They aren’t happy with me.” She smiled awkwardly before shrugging.

  

[Monty Lawrence]

"Why not? Education is incredibly important!" Monty looked up, almost outraged.
