For once back in the common room after supper, Robyn was under the table looking for his quill, not bothering to check if anyone else was around. Last he’d seen he was on his own, so it was quite fine in his book. Well, when he said ‘looking’, he meant rummaging around in the stuff he’d carelessly thrown under it while studying – used up parchment, something surprisingly sticky (it received an odd look from the boy and got shoved into his bag to be sorted out later), a twig that somehow found its way inside from the latest excursion out, and various odds and ends that found their way first on then under the table during his study process, somehow including his Transfiguration textbook.

The latter got carefully picked up and replaced on the table, though the textbook’s owner managed to hit himself on the deck on the way out. “Ouch,” he grumbled, wondering if his twin hadn’t gotten a hold of his quill again without him noticing… again. That happened often enough in either case of the twins, so Rob wouldn’t be at all surprised to find his quill a victim to yet another of Ri’s ‘experiments’. Then again, he clearly remembered accidentally dropping it but a few minutes ago, so he should be able to find it, since he’d been looking around for that long. “Come on, where are you?” Glancing from side to side, Rob shifted another stack of parchment. Really, he should attempt taking an example from older students’ study habits and try to at least not put everything under the table, just on it. Then again, that made the table itself a mess, from what he’d seen so far, so he wasn’t sure if it was any better.
Robyn's Gaelic speech is identified in bold italics.
