I'm assuming if they go on a honeymoon, they left on a different day. XD
He was married. He was married, and Jasper thought he'd have felt some sort of significant difference, but if such a feeling was forthcoming, it hadn't reached him yet. It was a very strange thing to think about, though, even though he'd had several months now to get used to the idea, and even though he'd had every intention of getting married in the relatively near future anyway--assuming he'd have found a bride who suited him, of course.
The newly minted Mrs. Montague would, probably, be fine. At least, the few times they'd interacted at this point had been pleasant enough. As annoyed as Jasper had been at his father for arranging the match without consulting him at all, as if he were a child, at least his father hadn't chosen someone who would immediately offend his senses.
Not that it truly mattered what he thought about it all now, of course. It was done, they were married, and it would probably be all right.
That said. There was a particular part of married life that needed to be addressed, preferably sooner rather than later. Not that Jasper thought it would be a terrible inconvenience--if nothing else, he'd been blessed with an especially pretty bride. Thank Merlin--but well. It was a delicate thing regardless, wasn't it?
Jasper was standing outside his new wife's bedroom, having given her a respectable enough amount of time to do whatever it was she needed to do--a lady's evening absolutions were a mystery him. Suddenly feeling a bit awkward and unsure of himself now that he was there, he raised his fist and knocked lightly on the wood.
