    Irony At Its Finest

The Maroc's Greek Mythology Ball was certainly an event to behold. Being of the upper class, it was expected of her family to show up at these gatherings, even if they were visiting from out of country. It was every spectator's duty to represent their home country proudly, and AmÚlie would do just that. And besides, the theme of this ball was certainly an exciting one û she had always adored costumed balls and socials. Although, the costume that her mother had chosen for her left little to be desired, and was quite ironic given her lineage.

This eve, AmÚlie was portraying Aphrodite, goddess of love, desire and beauty. Perhaps when she was younger, the Frenchwoman would have been alight with joy at the prospect of portraying Aphrodite û but when she was younger, she was much more vain than she was now. Still, she would do the famous goddess justice as best she could. Her costume was simple, as there was not much to Aphrodite û no theatrical props or anything really to explain who she was. Perhaps her veela charm might be hint enough. Aphrodite was often portrayed in the nude, given what she stood for, and that was simply impossible. So AmÚlie made due in a semi-sleeveless red and black dress û red being the colour of love, after all - and with an extravagant updo of curls.

It was rumoured that Aphrodite was blonde, and so AmÚlie had performed a beauty spell, to temporarily alter her hair colour for the night. She did not necessarily enjoy the colour on her, but perhaps she favoured the contrast with her eyes that naturally dark hair had always provided. To finish the look, she had decorated her updo with red and rink flowers intertwined in a golden halo of ivy that rested gently atop her hairdo, to give something of a mythical look. Whether or not people would actually recognize who she might be portraying was beyond her, but she knew and that was all that truly mattered.

It was quite an extravagant and very detailed affair û the roman pillars, marble and ivy added just the right touch. AmÚlie truly felt as though she had stepped over a threshold and back in time to Ancient Greece. Oh, one could only dream! Words escaped her as she glanced around the ballroom, naturally turning to Mademoiselle Jacqueline and smiling at her chaperone, who was dressed in a much simpler, but still quite beautiful gown. She was not partaking in the masquerade of the event, but she did still look quite nice. Jacqueline smiled back and without another word, AmÚlie was exploring the setting. The refreshment table was the first thing she noticed, and immediately set on her way. Everyone else's costumes were gorgeous, and she was rather enjoying trying to discern whom everyone was portraying.

Amélie can speak both fluent English and French, as she was taught English by her father.
She speaks English with the usual French accent.
