This had to be the first time in years that Edith was actually nervous. Survive a couple centuries? No problem! Drink blood to live? No problem. Teach a bunch of teenagers about how to treat animals with respect? HUGE problem.

She wasn't afraid of the kids, just wary. When she had pushed herself into getting the position, being the only qualified on such short notice she hadn't thought it out entirely like she normally did. She had such short time she was lucky to just get a teaching position rather than going back to prostituting. She hated that work the most, especially laying with all those men.

But currently, she was standing out by the lake, having left a note on the classroom door for the Care for Magical Creatures to meet her by the hut near the lake. The lake was hardly fifteen paces behind her, and the small hut that the previous Care for Magical Creatures professor used, was not more than twenty paces away in the other direction.

There wasn't much in the hut yet, since she had to leave behind the majority of her animals she had previously with the carnival. Plus, the animals she did have, she didn't want them getting scared by the mass of students that would be arriving any minute. Edith had something special established this time around for her third to fifth years, wanting to get the Mers involved. Especially since she was waiting on her shipment of animals for the school, and wanted to get the students in a hands on environment immediately.

The school had Mermaids in the black lake, which was absolutely perfect. She didn't need her animals shipped out through some contacts she had faster, when she could just utilize what was there. The hard part was convincing the Mers in the lake to agree to a class of students asking them questions and such. And since it was also sunny outside, Edith had to be careful to wear her full crimson hood and robe with gloves, which might have looked odd, but the less these students could see the less she would have to worry about them figuring out what she was.

"Welcome, I am your new professor for Magical Creatures, Miss Maygrove. I am glad you could all meet me out here." Edith mentioned, with a wave of her hand out across the sun streaming lake, as she saw some students approaching the hut.

When the Ravenclaw heared that the Care of Magical Creatures lesson was going to be held in the Black Lake she got really excited. The Black Lake was home of the merpeople and Beatrice really enjoyed visiting them. Kyriake had even helped her learn some words in mermish, so now Trixie knew how to say "water","sun" and "bright". Knowing three words meant nothing, but Trixie was still proud of herself. She put her school robes and brushed her hair and then walked towards the lake since she didn't wanted to be late.

She gave her new teacher a smile and then turned her dark eyes towards the lake, wondering if Kyriake or even Petra was going to come during the lesson. The girl really hoped so, because that would be really interesting. Of course, this was their very first lesson, so probably they would just listen to some theory about mermaids. Beatrice never found theory boring, but today she really wanted to see the mermaids she loved so much than just listen to some boring story about mermaids. The girl looked patiently at the water, hoping that she will see the familiar green head pop out.
