Lisbeth hadn’t been able to sleep properly. She was worried about Monty. She knew she should be worried for herself, but she couldn’t. She’s been crying all night, because of how much she felt awful for betraying Monty’s trust. He was a poor, tortured soul, she could feel it and she wanted to help him.
Instead she went and screw everything up. After the detention fiasco she went and asked miss Reed, her year and dormmate if she could chaperone them. She trusted Audrey more than Tamsin Skeeter. There was some sense of fakeness around the blonde girl that Miss Reed didn’t have to. Not to mention, Audrey was much more discreet. She’d just take a sketchbook and don’t overhear things.
As they arrived at destination place in one of the empty classrooms, Lisbeth introduced Audrey to Monty. Audrey then smiled and sat behind them taking out her sketchbook.
”Monty, I am so very sorry again….” Lisbeh started biting her lips.

Monty looked angry today, there were dark circles under his eyes and he looked almost evil. He was scowling heavily, not even looking at Lisbeth. Upon meeting Miss Reed he noticed her beauty instantly and bowed in greeting to her, hoping neither would catch the blush on his freckled cheeks.

He sat down at a desk, leaving his bag in the chair between himself and Lisbeth to avoid her from sitting there. He brought out his quill, ink and parchment as well as a book he had taken from home, knowing his father would not miss it.

"Good day, Miss Fitzpatrick, I trust that you are well..." Monty muttered quietly, a sense of detachment to his voice.

Lisbeth could feel the cold when she entered the room. No, not the literal one, the metaphorical one. Monty was no longer her Monty he was cold and proper and stiff and… it made her want to tear up, because she knew this was not really him. She caused it. She was the one to blame.

”Monty…” She started, but seeing his gaze she quickly changed it to “Mr. Lawrence. I hope the dinner suited your tastes?” She said, using the name he so much hated.

Monty visibly flinched at her sweet voice calling him Lawrence, but he cleared his throat and shrugged, reaching for his quill. "Dinner was...the same as usual."

Monty opened up a different potions book, which was an old print from many years back. "This book shows the potion being brewed in a different formatting..." Monty moved it so she could see. "I think we should write a comparative between the two methods and come to a conclusion as to why the newest is used and preferred..."

Monty couldn't even look at her properly.

This situation was really hard for Lisbeth. She apparently had a talent for getting in those situations, one she never even thought she had. It was like the last summer changed everything. Before she never thought she could feel for a boy like she did for Islwyn and now…. things got incredibly complicated.
”So… one of us brews the potion with old methods and the other with new?”

"Yes...unless you cannot handle a potion on your own, then I suppose we would both have to participate in both potions..." Monty wouldn't admit it, but he hoped she'd pretend she was awful, just so they would spend some more time together.

"I think in order to write about why the newer method is preferred, then we should try them both out, what do you think?"

”I can handle brewing a potion on my own, but we are supposed to work together, so brewing it together seems like best option.” Lisbeth said in response to his words, her pride slightly wounded. ”I certainly agree we should try both of the methods.” Lis said and after a moment of silence added:

”So… Did you think what will you dress as for Halloween?”

"Dress up? Why? I'm not going anywhere..." Monty muttered, not able to look at her.

He'd never been anywhere for Halloween, or celebrated it. His father had always requested he abstain from large groups of mudbloods and said that Halloween was full of them.

”Oh? You don’t like Halloween? It’s usually very fun. I’m going as Snow White.” She said cheerfully. This year would be fun. She managed to get Marissa dressed as the Evil Queen and she just needed her Prince Charming or maybe the Huntsman and it would be all good.

"I have never experienced Halloween, but why would you want to go as a lump of snow?" Monty grumbled, frowning at her in confusion. How silly.

”Not a lump of snow, Mr. Lawrence! Are you familiar with history of Queen Malodora Grymm, you know the one from famous wizard cards? The hag that married a king?” Lisbeth asked, expecting the answer to be no. He was a pureblood and why a pureblood would be taught about a hag that married a muggle after all.

Again, Monty flinched at the use of his second name.

"Uh...I have a vague recollection..." Monty muttered, which was true, but he never paid much attention to some things. "So Snow White refers to the hag? That married the king?"

”No.” Lisbeth shook her head. Just as expected, he had no idea. It seemed she was more immersed in those stories. ”She’s a hag that married a king. He already had a daughter – Snow White. She had hair black as night, skin white as snow and lips red as rubies. She was beautiful and the Evil Queen was jealous. She tried various ways, the final was poisoned apple. She put a sleeping curse on it and only the kiss of Snow White’s true love – Prince Charming could break the spell.” Lisbeth told the story as if Monty was a child. She tried to show him how much it meant to her.

"Prince Charming?" Monty raised an eyebrow. "He must have truly loved her to break a curse with nothing but a kiss."

Monty nodded to her, a stern look on his face, listening to her tell the story. "How else did he try to kill her?"

Lisbeth was happy that Monty seemed to like the story. His question made her think that maybe he wants to hear it all.
”I will tell you the whole story.” Lisbeth said excited. A small smile appeared on Audrey’s lips as she heard Lisbeth. That was one of her favorite fairytales as well.
”I hope you will like it, sir.” Said Audrey, the girl that was chaperoning them and smiled slightly as Lisbeth began:

“Once upon a time, in a kingdom far away a Queen was sewing at an open window when the snow was falling when she pricked her finger with a needle causing three drops of blood to fall on the snow lying on the black windowsill. She then says a wish: ‘ Oh how I wish that I had a daughter that had skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony’

Soon, she gives birth to a beautiful girl like she desired. Sadly, she passes soon after.
After a year has passed, the King takes a new wife, who is beautiful but also unutterably wicked and vain. The new queen possesses a Magic Mirror which she asks every morning: "Magic mirror in my hand, who is the fairest in the land?". The mirror always replies: ‘My Queen, you are the fairest in the land." The queen is always pleased with that, because the magic mirror never lies. But, when Snow White reaches the age of seven, she becomes as beautiful as the day and even more beautiful than the Queen and when the Queen asks her mirror, it responds: ‘My Queen, you are the fairest here so true. But Snow White is a thousand times more beautiful than you.’

The Queen becomes green with envy and from that moment she hates Snow White and wishes her death. The new queen orders a Huntsman to take Snow White into the deepest woods to be killed. She demands as proof that Snow White is dead, he returns with her lungs and liver. The huntsman takes Snow White into the forest. After raising his knife, he finds himself unable to kill her as she sobs heavily and begs him: ‘Oh, dear huntsman, don't kill me! Leave me with my life, I will run into the forest and never come back!’. The huntsman leaves her behind alive, convinced that the girl would be eaten by some wild animal. He instead brings the Queen the lungs and liver of a young boar, which is prepared by the cook and eaten by the Queen.

Snow White wanders the forest for days until she discovers a tiny cottage belonging to seven dwarves. They let her stay under the condition she will be cautious and help them at home. She agrees.

Meanwhile, the Queen asks her mirror once again: ‘Magic Mirror in my hand, who is the fairest in the land?’ The mirror replies: ‘My Queen, you are the fairest here so true. But Snow White beyond the mountains at the seven dwarfs is a thousand times more beautiful than you’

This angers the queen. She disguises herself as an old peddler. The Queen then walks to the cottage of the dwarfs and offers her colourful, silky laced bodices and convinces the girl to take the most beautiful bodice as a present. Then the Queen laces it so tight that Snow White faints, causing the Queen to leave her for dead. But the dwarfs return just in time and Snow White revives when the dwarfs loosen the laces.
Next morning the Queen consults her mirror anew and the mirror reveals Snow White's survival. Now infuriated, the Queen dresses as a comb seller and convinces Snow White to take a beautiful one as a present. She brushes Snow White's hair with a poisoned comb and the girl faints again, but she is revived by the dwarfs. And the next morning the mirror tells the Queen, that Snow White is still 'a thousand times more beautiful' than its mistress. Now the Queen nearly has a heart attack in shock and rage. As a third and last try, she secretly consults the darkest magic and makes a poisoned apple, and in the disguise of a farmer's wife, she offers it to Snow White. The girl is, at first, hesitant to accept it, so the Queen cuts the apple in half, eating the white (harmless) part and giving the red (poisoned) part to Snow White. The girl eagerly takes a bite and falls into a state of suspended animation, causing the Queen to triumph. This time, the dwarfs are unable to revive the girl, because they can't find the source of Snow White's poor health and, assuming that she is dead, they place her in a glass coffin.

During that time a Prince, who met Snow White before she escaped from the Palace, searched for her days and night. Finally, he found her. He sees her in the coffin and is terrified he’s too late. He asks the dwarves to let him kiss her one last time. They agree. He lifts it up, places a kiss on her lips and then she wakes up.

The Prince then declares his love for her, and soon a wedding is planned. The couple invites every Queen and King to come to the wedding party, including Snow White's stepmother. Meanwhile, the Queen, still believing that Snow White is dead, again asks her magical mirror who is the fairest in the land. The mirror says: ‘You, my Queen, are fair so true. But the young Queen is a thousand times fairer than you.’

Appalled in disbelief and with her heart full of fear and doubts, the Queen is, at first, hesitant to accept the invitation, but she eventually decides to go. Not knowing that this new queen was indeed her stepdaughter, she arrives at the wedding, and her heart fills with the deepest of dread when she realizes the truth. As a punishment for her attempted murders, a pair of glowing-hot iron shoes are brought forth with tongs and placed before the Queen. She is forced to step into the burning shoes and to dance until she drops dead. The End.”

"That's rather violent, isn't it?" Monty grumbled, scrunching up his nose.

In all honesty he thought it was incredibly romantic, but he wasn't about to admit to that.
