A MEMBER OF THE HOLYHEAD HARPIES SPEAKS OUT
A REACTION TO BANNING FEMALES FROM HOGWARTS' QUIDDITCH TEAMS
|
|
Dear Professor Black,
As you may already know, I used to be a student in Hogwarts ten years ago. During my first year in Hogwarts, I thought that I was hopeless in any class at school. I was desperate that I would never do something important in my life. When I first flew on a broomstick, I suddenly realized that I actually had a talent. In my third year some friends encouraged me to play Quidditch with them while they were training for a match and after that training everyone said me that I was good at Quidditch. Then I decided that Quidditch would be my future.
I joined the Holyhead Harpies two years after I graduated from Hogwarts. This didn't ruin my reputation at all. I got married and right ___________________________

now I am waiting for my first child, which is why I retired from Quidditch for a while. All of my team-mates in the Holyhead Harpies are great women and the fact that they play Quidditch didn't stop them from being good wives and mothers.
You ban girls from this sport just because they are girls? Why do you want to stop girls from dreaming, from practicing their true talents? The Founders of Hogwarts were both males and females and all four of them were some of the greatest wizards in their time. The Founders taught as that in Hogwarts males and females are equals. So why do you want to stop girls from playing Quidditch? Does Quidditch stop them from being women?
Sincerely, Megaera Turpin

STUDENT REACTION TO THE CHANGES
MEMBER OF PROMINENT PUREBLOOD FAMILY SPEAKS ABOUT QUIDDITCH BAN
|
|
To Whom it May Concern,
I am Mr. Andren Lovegood, beater for the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team and not previously involved in any scandal documented by the Daily Prophet. My grades are average-above average, with some exceptions. I am a member of the upper class, and a stellar family.
I am also sorely disappointed with the conduct of the Hogwarts staff in handling the allegations Miss Yente Ventus has made. They appear to be taking the woman who has implied ridiculous lies about my elder brother seriously, and considering that the opposite is true.... I am concerned for anyone who takes Gossip articles seriously.

What most concerns me, though, is the fact that all girls have been unceremoniously removed from the Quidditch teams without consulting the student body. Girls are almost a quarter of the Quidditch teams, and I doubt that any DP reporters or Hogwarts teachers have played Quidditch if they think we can form a good player in one month. It took me two years to be good enough to make the Hufflepuff team, and if our games this season are less than stellar this is why. Why punish members of the 'finer sex' for things other girls have done?
What's next, kicking upperclassmen off the Quidditch teams because we should be in suits?
Sincerely,
Andren Lovegood
