You are not the only one getting a promotion this year!
You might already know of the tragic death of Mrs. Valkyria Argyle, who you might also know as Hogwarts' Charms professor, if my niece Delight shares such information with you. That left Hogwarts needing a new Charms professor and perhaps without putting too much thought into it, I decided to apply - and I got the job!
I have realised that my previous occupation kept me far too busy these days and while teaching is hardly an occupation that isn't demanding, at least at Hogwarts I will be able to spend more time with half of my children, compared to none. You know how much I enjoyed Charms as well - you always told me that I spend far too much time at the Charms club, didn't you?

I’m not sure that I would call it a promotion—don’t professors, particularly new ones, get paid much less than you were before? You will forgive me for discussing money, of course; so long as you can keep my much beloved sister in the conditions to which she is accustomed, I shall be very happy for you indeed!
I confess it will also be something of a comfort to know that you will be on hand to keep an eye on my girls. All of them, for Topaz, it seems, is inclined to magic after all!

While it is true that I will get paid less than before, I would have never applied for the position if I knew that my family would suffer from it. I would rather have the dullest job in the world, if that meant that Evelyn and the children would be happy.
You sister, I assure you, is quite happy for me - her only concern is that I might get lost in Hogwarts' library!
It is a pleasure to hear about Topaz as well! I hope she - as well as Delight and Ruby - will not be too embarassed to have their uncle teaching them next year? Demelza already told me to call up on her as little as possible, lest her peers accuse her that I am playing favourites!
