"Are you always this forward?" He asked teasingly since it would be a very short thread if he just ignored her entirely. — Tobin Cartwright in Take A Peek
Did you know? Churchgoers and worshippers had to endure a foul stench during prayers due to the amount of bodies often stored within the vaults of churches and chapels.
I cannot believe my father. He’s letting middle class people move in. Middle class children. CHILDREN. I’d waited and waited for Penny to get to an age where I might finally be able to marry her off and get her out of my hair, and now we’re lumbered with more children. And, to top it off, a debutante. Three debutantes, in one house. Please kill me. It’s remarkable there hasn’t been a murder yet.
Basically my grandmother married up from the middle class- for love, which is really rather preposterous but my grandfather always was a rather silly old bat- and her brother had several children, only for them all to predecease him. He’s recently passed over, and so we have taken in his SIX grandchildren. SIX!
Yes, they might be family, but they have other cousins who could easily have taken them in, and in conditions they must be most accustomed to. They’re due to arrive later today.
Olivia is the debutante- she must be nineteen, a pretty enough girl but so shy I doubt she will be able to make a match easily, and if she becomes a spinster in all liklihood she’ll still be living at the park when I marry or become earl. Charles is 16, loud and boisterous but likable enough- I don’t mind his presence nearly so much as his siblings’- and I suppose I shall be able to take him out drinking with Jack in a year or so. Laura must be around fourteen, and is rather ambitious, but the worst is yet to come! Three of them haven’t even been to hogwarts yet! Samantha must be around ten, Ernest is eight, and worst of all, Janet (I think her name is?) is four, and LOUD. I thought the days of having a baby in the house would be over by now, and seeing as Janet is only four I shall most likely be FORTY by the time she marries and moves out.
I’m currently hiding in one of my flats in London, but should you chance to see a member of my family, the official story is that I’m staying with the Honourable John Staverton.
Hope you’re well etc.

Seriously Freddie, sometimes I wonder if you are not thinking of it the right way. Beautiful young ladies, just at the end of your hand - I cannot see what your problem is. Technically you are allowed to court them if you want to.
Unfortunately I am more or less stuck in Hogsmeade - I ca go to work now, but that is about it. I have my mom and Lynette here - I have to stay here.
I will remember your secret hideout in case of family. but I find the chances small - Unless of course your sister thinks your are hiding out with me.
Of course the children part of your extended family might be a bit more - annoying that absolutely needed, but come on - even you cannot complain about having young debutante LIVING with you. Debutantes that are NOT your sisters, that is.
Write when you get the time - and when all this quarantine is over, we should go drinking - muggle-london?
Allowed to court them? Two are my sisters and the other is a cousin. I know things are different in the magical world, and for purebloods, but marrying your cousin has been falling out of favour for the last fifty odd years at the muggle court, and I daresay the Queen would have a small fit if one of the few eligible peers married his cousin, a middle class and unpresented cousin at that. Besides, my thoughts lie elsewhere.
Drinking sounds good! As a ministry worker, can’t you get through the quarantine?

There are some pureblood wizards that marries their cousins. Just look at the Lestrange, Pendergast, Macnair, etc family. Maybe not their first cousins, but then a first cousin once removed or something like that - but personally I would not like to marry a cousin either.
And it is not like you are that old to be expected to marry straight away -we have time.
I can get through it, but family still - Lynette might understand but my mother? She is queationing me every single day what I have done through the day. Getting out for a drink is not as easy as it used to be.
