Appearance:

Walter stands a little over five feet, seven inches tall, and weighs no more than one hundred and fifty pounds. While he might not be the most attractive young man on the planet, he has the soft features and an innocent face which helps him come off as the sweet boy that he always tries to be.

He has short, straight, dark brown hair and light blue eyes that he's inherited from his mother. He dresses in muggle clothes on a regular basis, but can often be seen in robes on more formal occasions from the influence of his father. He wields his wand with his right hand.

History:

1867 | Walter is born the first son to Reuben and Atalanta Pendergast. What he wasn't aware of was that his birth wasn't only the event in which a heir was produced, but a moment that brought his family closer together.

1870 | The second Pendergast son, Samuel, is born. Instead of being a happy time, the birth almost ends in tragedy due to complications, but his mother was strong enough to pull through and live through the tough time. Walter didn't really like his younger brother from the start, but decided that the least he could do was approach the situation with a positive attitude.

1872 | Walter shows his first sign of magic.

1878 | Walter receives his acceptance letter to Hogwarts not too long after his eleventh birthday during the summer. Unlike the load of children who are excited to begin Hogwarts, he's extremely nervous and stresses over the fact that he might not do well while in school. Luckily, he is sorted into Hufflepuff in September, which was his mother's house, so he feels reassured that he might fit in better there than if he was sorted into a house like Slytherin.

1879 | Walter starts his second year of Hogwarts and starts off by joining the Flying club, Club Quidditch, and the Dueling Club. He feels like he should start and become more social with some of the children from the other houses instead of befriending exclusively the Hufflepuff house.

1880 | Walter begins his third year at Hogwarts and signs up for Care of Magical Creatures, Ancient Studies, and also begins taking Music class. He finds that he enjoys playing the piano, which was a skill that he was taught from a young age but never really took interest in as a young child and finds himself beginning to memorize complex pieces of work during his free time. He also takes a strong liking towards his Care of Magical Creatures class, and can imagine himself working in the Department of Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures once he graduates Hogwarts.

1883 | During his fifth year, the importance of doing well on his OWLs really hits him hard. He throws himself into study, but because he isn't the most studious and intelligent boy in school, he struggles a little bit with the memorization of facts and dates, especially in History of Magic and Charms. He begins to give up during the middle of spring, but manages to throw himself together by the time his OWLs come in May. During the year, his mother is also attacked by a blood purist because of a book his grandfather wrote about blood equality.

1884 | Walter's father, Reuben Pendergast, dies right before his birthday due to the laughing sickness. Even though he didn't share a close relationship with his father, his death saddens him. Because he is the eldest son in the family, he's informed that he's to receive his father's fortune and estate once he graduates from Hogwarts in the next year, but he's aware of the responsibilities that will come with that.

Personality:

While he was raised around blood purists and people who were prejudiced against anyone who wasn't of the upper class and pureblood, he never retained those values. He's managed to befriend a muggleborn student while at Hogwarts, but he makes a strong attempt to hide that fact from his family because he doesn't want them to be disgusted with him. He's very sweet and loyal and is genuinely a hard worker, even if he isn't the most clever and smartest.
