Appearance: Standing at roughly 4’6”, Charlotte has inherited Fontaines’ looks in full, having been graced with blonde curls and bright blue eyes, slender build, pale skin and looks that have earned her the nickname Angel. She dresses as typical for her age and station of the upper class, her clothes neat and tidy unless she used to hold a paint brush in her hand, and then they sometimes end up splattered over despite her best care to avoid it. While she is fastidiously clean, Charlotte sometimes has charcoal or ink stains on her fingers due her favorite hobby and colorful threads of wool and other materials if she’d been attempting embroidery or sewing. She is right handed, and lately, almost always has a charcoal stick and a sketchbook along.
History:
September 24, 1874: Charlotte is born to a halfblood, upperclass family in Aostan Valley, Italy. She doesn’t get much of a chance to bond with her parents right off and is mostly raised by a nurse in the family’s employ. She’s aware that she has an older brother and sister but rarely sees either, since both of them are currently at school. She is a quiet child with preference for watching rather than talking and doesn’t start until much later.
1876: Charlotte begins to talk. Sentences are short and awkward, but soon as she discovers talking, she loves it. Her chatter is quiet but quite present despite being highly overdue. She makes up by having long conversations with her imaginary friends.
1877: With the establishment of Hogsmeade, Charlotte begs to be allowed to visit, and gets it. Since then, she visits as often as she can be allowed to for the time being.
1878: Charlotte gains a little sister, Eloise. The girl is raised by different nurse and therefore she doesn’t play with her much. She also hears her older brother is off traveling but doesn’t really pay attention to it, being small enough not to. She does, however, get time with her mother, rare though it is.
1879: Having been visiting with her Grandmere in Bath, Charlotte avoids the fate of the rest of her immediate household in remaining reasonably healthy. She does catch a common cold around summer, but nothing pepper up doesn’t fix. The rest of the visit comes more or less smoothly, with the girl mostly discovering her surroundings and satisfying her sense of childish curiosity. Her father doesn’t survive the illness, and Charlotte returns to the house in mourning and unfamiliar people. The following goings on don’t attract much of her attention yet.
1880: Charlotte’s mother enters convent. Charlotte is less than pleased about it and throws the first and so far only in her life tantrum, claiming her mother abandoned her to stay alone for the rest of her life. That tantrum also sparks first display of accidental magic, getting the furniture in the room with the girl to fly all over the place and then fix itself once she realized what a mess she was making. Summer same year, the girl discovers paints and other artistic materials and retreats into herself. Later, she moves in with her Grandmere and attends Adeline’s wedding once the latter finds a husband, bonding a little with her sister as a result. After Adeline’s wedding, she moves to Hogsmeade with her oldest sister and her family. Her brother, whenever she sees him, is an unknown entity and thus gets no attention, being just another big person among crowd of them.
1882:By now Eloise is old enough to be considered a ‘good playmate’. The girls spend some time together, though Charlotte’s also entranced by fairy tales and discovery of embroidery. Still, her fingers are a bit on the clumsy side so far and her colors are quite garish. She’s also well on her way to learning etiquette from her nurse, the same one who took care of her from the time of her birth. Determined to be liked by others, especially her cousins, Charlotte’s an eager student. Between her everyday small acts of kindness and looks, it’s around that time when she earns the nickname ‘Angel’.
Spring 1883: Charlotte discovers her love for singing, not to mention her voice, and begins coping with her mother’s ‘abandonment’ by making use of her talents in art, music and embroidery. People she meets start to get more notice than before, and she slowly develops her observational skills, so needed when making a perfect picture. Around this time, too, she begins to learn how to write, experiencing difficulties because a quill is hard to hold.
1884: Disappointed because her Hogwarts letter’s late despite her definitely being a witch, Charlotte resigns herself to another year of waiting. Meanwhile, she hopes to hone the skills she has and to continue reconnecting with her family, though she doesn’t particularly wish to do so. While living in and exploring Hogsmeade, she anticipates Christmas with the rest of Fontaines, mostly due the possibility of interesting people to observe.
Personality: shy – optimistic – daydreamer – artistic – quiet – steadfast – observant – polite
