She was Caspar’s first love. Contrary to many cliches, she was not some super soft and weak-willed woman. Olivia was very intelligent and witty, and that is perhaps what Caspar loved about her.

A little shit that Caspar kinda can’t wait to send to Hogwarts.

Gabriel Urquart • 1880 • ward & nephew
Totally Caspar’s favourite nephew. He sometimes reads to him in front of the fireplace while Gabriel’s sitting on his lap.

Regina • 1878 • pet
Caspar randomly saw Regina at a pet shop while walking about Diagon Alley and he instantly “fell in love” with her because of her unusual look. He’d never admit it, but he sometimes talks to her. He also pets her while she’s sitting on his lap like he’s the villian from a 1930s cartoon.

Daddy. He’s dead.

Iphigenia Uquart née Goyle • 1821 • mother
His mom. She moved in along with Elijah and Gabriel after Melchior’s death. She also often comments about “How nice it would be to have a woman by his side, a wife to run his household”. She and Harriet Prewett should be friends.

Melchior Urquart • 1840-1884 • brother
Ever since he was a child, Caspar would always tag along with Melcior because it was convenient. Melchior probably thought that he was a lot more stupid than he actually was. If this was a movie there would probably be a scene where Caspar laughs in front of a mirror like “I’M SO SMART MELCHIOR KNOWS NOTHING”.

Balthazar Urquart • 1845 • brother
Caspar always thought that Balt is kinda silly because he follows his heart too much. He cut off his ties with him when Balthazar decided to marry an ex-maid, but he didn’t really take it as seriously as the rest of the family. (Though really, ex-maid halfblood? If Balthazar liked exotic women so much he could surely find one from a proper family!) After his election (Caspar totally didn’t vote for him, btw, #teamLestrange4lyf) and Melchior’s death, though, Caspar has been rather awkwardly trying to get back with his brother.

Much like Balthazar, Evelyn is too romantic for her own good. What sensible woman would want to marry below herself? Matthew McGonagall is not even that hot special!

Appearance:

The shortest of the Urquart brothers, Caspar stands on five feet and eight and a half inches. His build is quite average and as a child and a teenager he always seemed to be on the weaker side. He has straight hair that is light honey brown colour. His eyes are blue. He’s always kept his face either clean-shaven or with very light facial hair. He dresses practically but still expensively (because he’s not some peasant to wear clothes that are even slightly itchy or something) and uses his right hand.

History:

April 29th, 1843: Caspar is born to Gaylor and Iphigenia. He’s their second son.

April 12th, 1845: Balthazar is born. Caspar is still too young to have any opinion about this.

1847: Caspar displays signs of magic by making his mother’s cat/lapdog levitate.

July 8th, 1854: Evelyn is born.

September of 1854: Caspar goes to Hogwarts. He’s a Hatstall, as the Hat considers both Ravenclaw and Slytherin suitable for him. In the end, Caspar tells the Hat that knowledge is useless without ambition, and thus ends up in Slytherin.

September of 1856: In his third year, Caspar picks Arithmancy, Ancient Runes and Care of Magical Creatures as his electives. The latter is mostly because he was always fond of animals, but to his father he says that it was so he might one day work for the department of Creature Induced Injuries at the hospital.

1858-1859 Caspar returns for his fifth year as a prefect. He does well on his OWLs.

Summer of 1861: Caspar graduates from Hogwarts and takes up work as an intern for St. Mungo’s, at the Spell Damage department.

June of 1862: About a full-year after the beginning of his internship, Caspar is promoted to the position of a full healer. By September, he has moved out of home to a room in Black’s.

1868: Balthazar goes to America. Caspar thinks this a clever choice.

1872: Balthazar returns from America married to a half-blooded former maid. Wtf Balt. He is promprlty disinherited and Caspar cuts all ties with him. He does secretly find the whole situation amusing, though.

June of 1872: Clearly inspired by Balthazar’s antics, Evelyn elopes to Balthazar’s best friend, Matthew McGonagall. She’s also disowned and Caspar cuts off his ties from her as well. Like with Balt, he finds the situation mildly entertaining though he cannot fathom why Evelyn would do it. If she was so determined to marry below herself she could at least pick a less unimpressive husband!

September of 1872: Caspar meets Miss Olivia Burke, a young debutante, at Flourish & Blott’s. The two have a long discussion about books and their seemingly common interests and Miss Burke even rather shyly confesses that she’d totally become a healer if given the opportunity. Caspar is enamoured by her.

December of 1872: Caspar asks Olivia’s father to court her.

January of 1873: Caspar proposes to Olivia.

September of 1873: Caspar and Olivia marry on the anniversary of their meeting. They move in a small but comfortable townhouse in London which Caspar previously purchased in the summer.

Later in 1874: Olivia informs Caspar that she is with child!

January of 1875: In the middle of the night, Olivia is awakened by severe pains. Caspar is also awakened because they totally slept in the same bed because TRUE LOVE!! A miscarriage kills Olivia before she can see dawn for the last time. Caspar is a sad puppy.

February of 1875: Caspar sells his house and goes back to living in Black’s.

August of 1877: Caspar is offered a position at the hospital of the newly established town of Hogsmeade. He takes it, thinking that a change would be for the better.

November of 1879: Melchior secretly approaches him with a plan to get daddy murdered. Caspar is at first unsure if he wants to partake, but the entire plan seems safe enough so in the end he agrees to do it. He still makes sure to work it out in such a way that if it is found out that it is a murder, it will look as if only Melchior was involved. Melchior is kinda unaware of that.

December of 1879: Gaylor Urquart is found murdered in the snow. Caspar plays the role of the shocked and grief-stricken son well. He and Melchior split the inheritance.

1880: Caspar is promoted to the position of assistant head! Now that he's significantly richer, he decides to treat himself by purchasing a rather lavish country home, even if his entire household consists of him and his cat. He adores his new study and gets a swivel chair so he can be all Disney villain-y in it.

1882: Some random woman, Joanne Herbert, becomes the Healer-in-Charge of the department, despite not having any previous experience working for that particular hospital. Wtaf??

1883: Herbert leaves (lol Caspar doesn’t miss her) and Caspar is promoted to her position, a position that was rightfully his.

March-June of 1884: Minister Potter is found dead! That doesn’t concern Caspar too much, until his younger brother decides to run for the position! Caspar thinks that it’s a cute try but it’s obvious that he won’t win. He’s definitely surprised and kinda proud when Balthazar, against all odds, is elected Minister in June.

Summer of 1884: Shit gets real. Due to his job, Caspar ends up stuck in the quarantined Hogsmeade. He miraculously doesn’t get sick, but he still loses a lot of family in the fire and plague. Most notably, Melchior. With him dead, his two younger sons and Iphigenia are left to Caspar’s care.

March of 1884: In the beginning of March, Balthazar is thought to be dead. It is quickly proven to be a fraud, though. Caspar uses the opportunity to send his brother a rather awkward and formal letter sharings his feelings on how he's glad he's not dead, without sounding too sentimental or anything.

1887: Caspar marries Honoria Yaxley, a widow involved in scandal.

Personality:

Very intelligent. Kinda Disney villain-y (think Hans mixed with Hades and Scar). Blood purist and classist. Selfish. Self-preservation to the fullest. Still genuinely nice. Has a fondness for animals. Shows a friendly face to the public, which goes from genuinely friendly to cool depending on who he's interacting with.
