Ira Quillen, Father [1835] | Ira is a hardworking carpenter based out of Kenmare, Ireland; he has always worked hard to provide for his (rather numerous) children. He dreams of all his children working their way out of the lower class... though whether or not they've all lived up to his expectations is another story!

Siobhan Quillen nee Winters, Mother [1838] | A midwife in Kenmare. Like her husband, she has big dreams for her children and can be very overbearing in making sure they're "on the right track".

Cillian Quillen, Brother [1856] | The golden son, Cillian has worked his way up to a prestigious job (probably a healer or something in the Ministry) and does quite well for himself. He knows he's the favorite, however, and often chooses to be a prick about it.

Finn Quillen, Brother [1858] | The second son, and keenly aware of it. He's done well enough for himself, but is not as successful as Cillian (he did not complete all seven years of Hogwarts) and is constantly reminded of that fact by his father. He kind of hates Cillian's guts (moreso than the rest of the family).

Bridget -- nee Quillen, Sister [1860] | Bridget married a middle-class man, and Siobhan has been incessantly nagging Darcy to do the same ever since. Darcy is not amused.

Fiona Quillen, Sister [1862] | Fiona is quite content with her lower class life, and works in an appropriate profession. She got fed up enough with her parents' nagging about doing ~more~ with her life that she stopped corresponding with them a few years ago. Darcy and Finn keep in touch with her, though the rest of the family is unaware.

Liam Quillen, Brother [1865] | Liam has been rather more susceptible to his parent's pushing, and is prone to bouts of anxiety over pretty much everything ever. Darcy feels sorry for him.

Appearance:

Darcy stands at a perfectly average 5' 2" tall. She has long dark hair that she keeps in a bun, and large brown eyes. She is thin without much in the way of curves. She dresses simply and as neatly as she can, given her position. She is right handed.

History:

1852 | Darcy is born, the first child of Ira and Siobhan.

1860 | Darcy shows her first sign of magic when she levitates a toy and throws it at Cillian. This is pretty indicative of their relationship from there on out.

1863 - 1866 | Darcy gets her Hogwarts letter. She goes and is sorted into Gryffindor, though she doesn't stay long. While Darcy is clever, she isn't skilled enough at book-learning to maintain the grades necessary for scholarships, and so leaves after her third year. Her parents are supremely disappointed in her, but Darcy copes with this by simply pretending not to notice. She even starts to pretend to be a bit daft in order to lower her parents' expectations -- to her surprise (and slight disappointment), it works. She follows her mother around doing midwifey things for the time being, though she finds the profession entirely too messy for her tastes.

1867 | Much to her relief, Darcy finds employment as a maid in the wealthy McLaggen household in Kenmare. She works hard and proves adept at the work, though her primary draw to the position in the first place was that it gave her the opportunity to leave home.

1874 | Cillian manages to complete his NEWTs and goes off to work in some fancy position. At the same time, Finn leaves school after his OWLs, and their parents hound him relentlessly over this deficiency. Meanwhile, a footman in the household shows interest in Darcy, and she is (not really) surprised to discover she has no interest in men at all!

1877 | By this time Darcy has worked her way up to be head housemaid and has done quite well for herself, though her accomplishments are still overshadowed by Cillian's in the eyes of her parents. However, the upheaval that occurs with the Wizarding World this year forces her to find new employment. She is hired as a lady's maid to Mrs. Florence Keaton.

1881 | Fiona, finally tired of the neverending competition with her siblings, cuts off all contact with her parents, Bridget, and Cillian.

1883 | The Keatons move to Irvingly, and Darcy goes with them, having found herself quite attached to the lady of the house, even though she secretly thinks the men of the family are kind of crazytown.

1885 | Sanders is disowned in January. Florence is heartbroken, though Darcy does her best to conceal this fact from her husband, for her sake. Meanwhile much downstairs drama erupts when Harrison is promoted over TSF, and Darcy takes pity on the clueless new footman, bringing him under her wing. Business as usual, really, -- and despite all this madness, Darcy still prefers it to her home life, as she's quite clearly near the top of the servant totem pole!

Personality:

Clever. Loyal. Independent. Good at reading people. Kind. Peacekeeper. Often acts like she knows less than she does as a defense mechanism. Practical. Sensible, when she isn't pretending to be daft to kepe out of trouble.
