MR. JUSTIN ROSS PROMOTED SQUAD CHIEF BECOMES ASSISTANT HEAD

Mr. Justin Ross, who has served as Law Enforcement Squad Chief of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement since 1875, has been promoted to the department's Assistant Head. In addition to working in the DMLE since 1865, Mr. Ross was Minister Urquart's first Wizengamot appointee in the Summer of 1884. He tends to vote with the progressive faction of the Wizengamot, and recent votes include a 'yes' on the Pennyworth Project and on the failed Wizarding Voting Reform Act of 1885.  Diligent readers may remember that Mr. Ross was present when Mr. Jasper Bryce kidnapped Mrs. Odira Potter in May of 1885. _____________________________________________________________

Minister Urquart had the following to say about Mr. Ross' promotion: "I cannot think of a more suitable appointment, and am quite surprised that Mr. Ross was not elevated sooner! I hope to see him rise even higher in the coming years, for the Ministry of Magic could benefit from more men with his sound mind and devotion to the community in decision-making positions." Mr. Ross' previous position as Squad Chief had him heading Hit Wizards and Obliviators. He married Mrs. Marlena Ross, formerly Fisk, in 1875, and they are currently expecting their second child. His new promotion means that he is working directly beneath Mr. Faustus Prewett, and he will continue to maintain both his DMLE position and his position in the Wizengamot. AUTHOR: IAN PENGLOSS
