Day in the park

[Tessa Grey]

Tessa decided that today she was just going to take a walk in the park. With her chaperone they went. Because it was a nice day she was going to take advantage of the weather. But since school was out it was nice to see all the younger children playing. It made her think about when she had those careful days. But they were all behind her. And she had to worry because she was growing up. And she had to put childish things behind her. And she had to look at what the next step was in her life.

She loved looking around and seeing everybody so happy. But then she noticed a young girl drawing. It was something that she always found beautiful. And she was big into looking at art. So she was drawn over to her. So Tessa went over to the young girl and was standing there, just watching. Because it was so peaceful just standing there. But she put on a smile. “ You are very talented.” Tessa was doing her best to encourage the young girl.

Acacia had been painting one of the last paintings she was planning of doing on the park. Her father had decided to visit some friends and took her along. She'd been painting whenever she got a chance. She was with their head maid, the only one to accompany them.
She heard the compliment and looked at the girl. She smiled. "Thank you. My name is Acacia, Acacia Ruskin." She said politely.

Tessa watched as the young girl was painting. It was very relaxing just to watch. And she was spending time in the park. The fresh air was going to do her some good. There was time for her to enjoy herself before she started finishing school. She would miss times like these, but she had to think about her future. “ You are welcome.” Tessa gave a smile as the girl said her name. “ Well hello Acaaia, my name is Tessa Grey.” Tessa was still looking at the painting. “ You are really good, have you ever thought about selling your paintings?”

"So informal." Acacia joked, as most people called each other by their last names. "It's nice to meet you too." She said. She looked back at her painting and thought. "Not really. But that is a good idea." She said. "How are you on this nice day?" She asked.

Tessa laughed when the young girl said that she was informal. But Tessa was liking Acaia, and she thought that her name was beautiful. It was one that wasn't common. Looking at her painting and admiring her work was something that Tessa loved. Looking at art was a way for her to understand what the person was thinking. And she would buy one from her, but she wasn't going to say that just yet. But now she was asked how she was doing on this fine day. “ My day has been lovely so far. How are you fairing on this fine, nice day?”

Acacia was really good at her art from lots of practice. She continued to paint as she talked. "I am going very well. I'm almost done painting this lovely park." She said.

Tessa was just enjoying the weather and watching Acacia just paint. It was always relaxing and peaceful. And it was nice to have a conversation with someone. It would always pass the time. And it was always nice to talk and meet new people. Tessa always felt good when she knew that others were doing good. “ I am glad that you are almost done with your lovely painting.” She didn't have anything else planned for the day. So it seemed like a good idea to stay and talked to Acaia while she painted. Tessa knew that she looked old enough to be at Hogwarts. So she was going to ask what house she was in. “ So do you go to school?” Hoping that the girl was magical and not a muggle. Even if muggle didn't bother her.

Acacia enjoyed that someone had stopped to talk to her. She thought about how to reply to the next question, not sure if she was talking to a witch or not. She looked at her again. "Yes, I do." She said, glancing around for a hidden wand.

Tessa was enjoying her time. And it seemed like Acacia would enjoying her talking. It was always nice to take interested in the younger girls. Tessa remembered when she was that age too. She asked the girl if she went to school anywhere. And she could guess that she would be scared that she was talking to a muggle. Which Tessa understood. “ Don't worry you are in good company.” Hoping that this would let the girl feel comfortable to talk about Hogwarts.

Acacia smile. "Are you in school? What house?" She asked, happy to meet another witch. At least, she hoped she had read that right.

Tessa gave her a warm smile. “ No I graduate and I am no longer in school.” She was glad that it was over because it was like she could start her life. “ But I was in Gryffindor.” At least Acacia knew that she was a witch.

Acacia smiled more, relieved that she had been right that the young woman was a witch. "I'm in Ravenclaw." She said.

Tessa then seen the look on Acacia face when she knew that Tessa was a witch. It was the face that was relieved because there was another witch or wizard. But she knew how the young witch felt. Even though she loved spending time in muggle London. It was always nice to find someone who was like her. Even though she still lived in London among the muggles. But seemed like she was spending most of her time in Hogsmeade.

“ So what year are you?” Tessa knew she should have asked what year she would be in. Since school was out.

Acacia wasn't used to muggles, it was a bit strange to her, how they couldn't do as much as she could when she was aloud to. "Fourth, but I am going into fifth." She said. She was so excited for the years to come, though it wasn't as soon as she would like, in a few years she'd get to use magic outside of school.

OOC- It says fourth year under her avatar, and I was wondering if it changes during September 2nd or when summer begins.

Tessa listened as Acacia said that she was in her fourth year. But she was going to be in her fifth year once school started. She had remembered those days, and how she thought that she was ready for her seventh year. Thought she wished that she would have enjoyed having the carefree days. “ Enjoy Hogwarts while you can.” Tessa wished that she would have taken her own advice. “ It might seem nice to use magic outside of school. But then you realize that you are an adult and have to adult things.”

"Any advice for being an adult?" Acacia asked, since her father kept talking about arranged marriage, which she was not excited about. She didn't like the idea of not marrying for love, like her parents had. Even though that didn't turn out so well, she was hoping hers would.
