Open to an incoming first year and (if played) whoever is accompanying them!
The shop had been busy for the past fortnight as would-be students filtered in in greater and greater numbers, Hogwarts supply list in hand. The top of each parchment bore one unmistakable item: A Wand.
There were, of course, options for the incoming first year. They might inherit an ‘heirloom’ wand from another member of their family, they might acquire one second-hand from a shop, or they might even purchase one from Gervaise’s brother’s store, in Hogsmeade. After the fires, though, more and more magical families had begun to return to England, making Ollivander’s London a prime destination for any first-time Hogwarts student.
Gervaise relished it.
Between creations of his late father, his own products, and the few wands made by his apprentice that were finally of a calibre high enough to sell, the wand shop was well-stocked—and Merlin, did it need it! For what seemed like the dozenth time that day, the tinkling of the bell above the shop’s door alerted Gervaise to the arrival of a potential customer, and the wizard peeked his head out from behind one of the shelves to see the expected eleven-year-old, money-carrying relation in tow.
“A first wand is it, then?” he asked with an easy smile as he came to greet them.

Irene was excited! She had been begging for days to be allowed to go into London to get her wand, she had begged, and pleaded and recounted (to anyone who would listen) all the different kinds and combinations of wands that she would like to have. She had insisted on wearing her best blue dress for the event, and spending an extra amount of time on her hair, as though somehow dressing for the occasion would impact the attitude of the wands towards her.
As soon as they had flued into Diagon alley she was off! Hurrying through the street as fast as her legs would carry her. Her excitement over taking as she was now within sight of her target. Her foots steps quickened and she eventually broke into a run, pushing open the door of the shop a broad grin on her face as she walked to the counter, sure that someone would have caught her to her when the time came to pay.
”Yes” she answered with great authority to his question. ”I am starting school very soon, and I need my wand.” she fought back her squeal of excitement as she took in the stacked shelves of wands, trying to decide in her head which wand she wanted to pick her.

While first years seldom shared his passion for the craft of wandmaking, they were always eager about the finished product. The enthusiasm was infectious, and Gervaise’s smile remained on his face as he looked the young witch over before disappearing into the stacks and returning with three identical, Ollivander’s boxes. He set each on the counter beside him, tucking their lids underneath.
“Would you like to take a look?” he asked her, gesturing to the open boxes. “Perhaps one strikes your fancy.”
He was a firm believer that it was the wand who chose its wielder, but that did not mean the customer didn’t have a sense about these things from time to time.

If there was anything Freddie loved more than her children and her potions, it was shopping. That wasn't true - first came her children, then her potions, and then shopping, but the excitement that she'd find some new novelty to bring home tended to be much more tangent than the other two loves. Immediate reward, perhaps.
It was with excitement in near equal measure to her daughter's that she followed Irene to the wand shop. Though she ought to have scolded the girl for running ahead - and was given looks by several other mothers for not doing so - she thought it best to let the girl enjoy herself. They were only children for so long.
By the time the entered the store, Irene had already snagged an Ollivander (Gervaise, who had been a classmate at Hogwarts) and had three wands to survey. Freddie placed an affectionate hand on the girl's shoulder as she peered at the offerings, "Oh look dear, there's a hazel one. That's what I have. Wouldn't it be funny if we matched?" She glanced up at Mr. Ollivander as it occurred to her that perhaps that wand wasn't hazel after all...

There were plenty of other people in the shop, sparks and glimmers of magic filled the air as wands found their wizards, and Irene was green with envy. However, as Mister Ollivander opened the boxes, the first of the wands, that might be hers was laid out in front of her. They were all beautiful, at least to Irenes eyes, and she took them in, trying to see if she felt a ‘pull’ towards one or other. The bell on the door jangeled and her mother entered, catching up with her.
’Oh yes!’ Irene said happily, in a tone that was definitely more of a squeal than speaking. She turned her face back to Mister Ollivander, attempting as much as possible to be as grown as she could be and conduct herself as an elegant young lady – at least when she was speaking to Mister Ollivander. ’Mister Ollivander I would very much like to try the Hazel one.’ she indicated the hazel one that was rather like her mothers. She took the wand in hand and gave it a sweep through the air.
