SPRING OF 1873 | Abigale Jane and her twin brother are born on a rainy spring day to Phillip and ------ Abbott. They are the couple's second and third children, respectively - their eldest, a son, having been born three years prior in 1870 - and would prove to be their last.Personality:
YEARS 1873 - 1876 | What the Abbotts lacked financially, they had certainly made up for in love and support, and Libby - a nickname her mother had decided upon, for in her opinion, 'Abby' was too common - and her brothers grew up in a nurturing household. They were no different from many other families of their station, and the first few years of Libby's life had been relatively peaceful, excepting for a few sibling squabbles here and there, for she had always tried to keep up with her brothers and she was just as equally energetic as they were.
YEAR OF 1877 | Although it did not affect the Abbotts overmuch - Libby and her twin, in particular, who at four hadn't quite understood what was happening at the time - the Muggles began to push wizarding folk out of the city. They had felt safe enough in their little home that they hadn't seen any reason to move to the newly established Hogsmeade village.
YEAR OF 1878 | Libby and her twin brother are taught how to read and write via their mother. She had done well-enough for a child who had preferred play over work.
YEAR OF 1879 | Libby, at six, displays her first act of magic by bringing a dead plant back to life. It had been a thoughtful gift from a friendly neighbor, which her mother had often failed to nurture, but Libby had always liked it, thinking that it had brought a bit of extra life to the small living room, and whenever it began to wilt, it would seemingly set itself to rights again as if by magic.
YEAR OF 1881 | Tragedy strikes the Abbott family when Phillip was attacked, and consequently killed, by a group of thieves on his way home from work. While Libby had been very saddened by his death, it was for her mother that she had remained strong, because even as young as she was, she understood how difficult things were going to be now with no father in the picture. Particularly when her mother had decided that she had wanted to become an Auror.
AUTUMN OF 1882 | The Abbott's mourning period had barely passed before Xavier was sent off to Hogwarts to receive his education. Libby was sad to see him go, but had had to agree with her mother it was important, much like it would be for herself when she and ------ followed him in two years.
SUMMER OF 1884 | The twins received their Hogwarts acceptance letter. Though most of their supplies were bought second-hand, their mother had worked hard to ensure that their wands were not, and Libby had came back from Diagon Alley the proud owner of an 11 1/2" Alder wand with a Unicorn Tail Hair core.
SEPTEMBER 1884 - MAY 1885 | Libby and her twin brother joined their elder brother at Hogwarts. Unsurprisingly, Libby had joined Xavier in Hufflepuff while her twin had gone to the ------ house. She fits in rather well in the house of yellow and gold, and had found herself drawn to Herbology, which she had excelled at, along with Charms. In her other classes, she is merely an average, but hardworking student, and had managed to score enough Os and Es to have the next year's tuition paid.
The year also saw her mother finally be accepted into the Auror program, after three years of trying. Libby was proud, if not slightly concerned, though had tried to view the change in a positive light.
SUMMER OF 1885 | At twelve, Libby begins spending her summers as a seasonal shop cleaner to help pay for her school supplies. She begins to notice that Xavier has become more withdrawn than usual, and more irritable towards her and her twin, too.
SEPTEMBER 1885 - MAY 1886 | Libby exchanges Leisure Sports for Flying Club, now that she no longer has the class to hone her flying skills. One of her classmates had mentioned that she ought to try out for Quidditch, but she feels that she'd rather fly about for pleasure rather than for competition.
SUMMER OF 1886 | While returning home one afternoon, Libby had come across a stray, malnourished calico kitten. What had started as a temporary situation in which Libby would nurse him back to health, she'd ended up keeping him at the end of summer, vowing to provide for him personally. She had named him Alfalfa, after one of the plants she'd read about in Herbology.
SEPTEMBER 1886 - MAY 1887 | Now into her third year, Libby had chosen Earth Magic and Care of Magical Creatures as her electives focus. While she had never particularly been artistic, attending CoMC had encouraged her to learn to passably sketch, and she had taken up an art class as a result.
