    Mrs. Olivia Pendergast,
I hope this letter finds you well. My wife, Elinor Goyle of England, intimated that all of the details necessary for our arrival in your country had already been made, but I thought it prudent to write and ensure that nothing further needs to be done. We arrived this morning in Italy and expect to travel by boat to England in a few days. I anticipate arriving on the 10th of May, though this may be delayed should the weather not be in our favor.

I am very much looking forward to making your acquaintance. The kindness you are doing our family this summer, and my daughter in particular, is quite generous, family ties or no.
    Yours Sincerely,
    Otavio Raposo de Caldiera

    Mr. Caldiera,

    [Insert appropriate pleasantries here]

Please inform me when you arrive in London, that I might have the rooms ready for you in anticipation of your arrival. If you would inform me as well of the train that you intend to take from London, I should be happy to see to it that my carriage meets you at the station.

I likewise look forward to making your acquaintance and that of your children, and am saddened only that my cousin shall not be accompanying you. I hope that Miss Caldiera shall become friends with the elder Miss Pendergast, for the two, I imagine, will be spending a deal of time in one another’s company!

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Olivia R. L. Pendergast
