Calling For My Demons Now To Let Me Go

Cecily Gallivan frequently regretted her actions these days. Her latest regret was sending Hudson Pine a howler. Had that been excessive? It had seemed like a good idea at the time, but now she wasn't quite so sure.

The thing was, she didn't like being horrible to people. Her emotions just got the best of her in the heat of the moment and she ended up doing and saying things that she regretted.

Then there was something that had been bothering her since summer. After Miss Urquart's tragedy broke out, Cee reconsidered her stance regarding her father. The truth was, she'd been reconsidering her stance for quite a while now, but she had lost control over her anger. It was hard to stop being angry. She couldn't just pretend that nothing had happened but, at the same time, she wanted for it to stop. She wanted to give her father a second chance and for him to do the same.

She had begun that effort by choosing a werewolf theme for her DADA term assignment. Furthermore, she decided to seek the counsel of a woman she respected very much.

"Thank you for agreeing to see me, Mrs. Bennett," Cee greeted as she entered the House matron's office.

Rosaline was more than happy to take student appointments, and was admittedly curious as to why Miss Gallivan wanted to see her. Miss Gallivan was a Quidditch captain and generally a clever girl - not that she got many irresponsible waifs floating to see her in Ravenclaw house, but still. She was curious. Presumably it may have had something to do with careers, given Miss Gallivan's year.

"Of course," Rose said, "Take a seat, Miss Gallivan. What's on your mind?"

Even Mrs. Bennett's kind and comforting tone didn't succeed at putting Cee at ease. She was generally considered a likable and friendly girl. What she was about to confess that day would contradict that. What would Mrs. Bennett think of her after this session?

"I have... wronged a person," Cee began. She didn't remove her eyes from her tightly clasped hands on her lap, as she spoke. "A person I used to be very close with. You see, about a year ago, I discovered that they'd been lying to me. It was for my own good, really, but I was angry all the same and I treated them terribly because my anger was so strong and now I feel so horrible because, well, I'm not that angry anymore."
