    EVENT ANNOUNCER - ROUND 1
After spending three and three-quarters hours wandering through the maze of the Ministry with several cramped lift rides (at least one having been uncomfortably haunted by a grumpy and blood purist old ghost), you have been given your supplies and map stuffed into a grey knapsack. If you are the first group member, you have also been given the responsibility of caring for a Ministry owl and are told to keep it with you at all times - you don't need to worry about feeding it, as it can hunt for itself. Then, you are shown the door and instructed to meet with your group members at a designated spot. You are also issued a harsh reminder of the consequences of being a deserter before you're shoved out into the spring's early morning sunlight.

    The adventure has begun.

You have been informed that your group members are:

Paulette de Montfault, 19, debutante, upper class
Juliet Banges, 18, Seventh Year Slytherin , Middle Class
Tavish MacFusty, 30, Dragonhunter, Upper Class
Hope Burns, 19, Lower Class, Maid to the Winships
Ixion Swift, 42, Flight Instructor, Middle Class

You introduce yourselves, review your maps, and then must come to a decision of which direction you need to start in.

Which part of Hogsmeade do you disembark from?
    a. West Slums
    b. East Slums
    c. South Slums

    OOC DIRECTIONS:
1.) Have your character introduce themselves. Mention in their post (doesn't have to spoken aloud) what else, if anything, they have brought with them. If it isn't mentioned here, then they won't have it later on in the trail unless it is found/made. Those who post first will be assumed to have spoken first.

2.) Assume all introductions have been made and then have them choose a direction/remain neutral. Points 1 and 2 should both be included in your character's first post.

3.) If the group comes to a decision before the round ends, you can have your group head in that direction. (Decisions will be made when all characters have had a turn to state their choice or the three days are up. Special instances are allowed and must be discussed with Lola.)

    Round 2 begins May 19th

It was not fair! Juliet wanted to attend Hogwart's Coming Out ball, not run around the woods. How could the stupid ministry ruin her future like that? Now, her father would have to host her a private coming out ball, and her sisters would surely whine because of it. Cordelia already seemed rather annoyed by the fact that all the attention went to Juliet these two months.

She was dressed in a comfortable light brown dress she had chosen for the stupid expedition. The Slytherin didn't want to think about the marvelous dress she was supposed to wear for her Coming Out Ball.

She was given her supplies, a map and a reminder of what would happen if she deserted. Well, that was stupid. How could they demand such things from an eighteen year old girl? How could they be so cruel? The only good thing about this whole expedition thing was that she would receive her own piece of land.

She was the first to arrive at the spot she was supposed to meet her team-mates. Once they arrived, Juliet examined all of them. Paulette de Montfault was a girl she had heard of, because of her younger sister, Odette. There was a MacFusty, some lower class girl and Ixion Swift, Hogwart's flying instructor. " Good morning." Juliet greeted her team and tried to seem enthusiastic. " I'm Miss Juliet Banges."

The others introduced themselves to Juliet and she smiled, trying to be friendly with all of them. If she was going to spend the next month in the woods, she wanted to at least have friends by her side.

Once everyone introduced themselves, Juliet took out her map and examined it. She had no idea were they were supposed to go, and she glanced at her team-mates. " What about West Slums?" Juliet asked nonchalantly, not really caring where they would go. As long as they wouldn't be attacked by beasts, she was okay with going anywhere.

Paulette wasn't sure what to think about it. She was a lady. A crazy one (in her opinion, the others say she's normal or mean) that liked to tinker with potions, but a lady no less. Now she had to travel alongside men and fight. The last part made her a bit scared, so she prepared lots of potions for the road and bought new cauldron and ingredients that she found useful, which were a lot, but her bag was spelled, so it all fit.

When she got there, she soon spotted one of her sister's so called friends. As if it couldn't be any worse. Of course, she decided to keep a brave face on and greeted miss Banges kindly.
"Hello there, my fellow explorers." She said. "My name is Paulette de Montfault and I too suggest going west."

    OUTFIT
    #4
Ixion had received his letter somewhat lately, but the Quidditch cup was over and so he'd been able to devote more time than most to packing and preparing. He'd brought along a tent, but now seeing his groupmates he was convinced he wouldn't be doing any sleeping in it; that priveledge would go to the massive amount of ladies in the group. Probably the sleeping roll he'd brought would do something similarly. A bit of extra food, a few very minor medical supplies, his wand, obviously, had gone into the pack; in short, between Letitia and himself, they had probably prepared for everything. Thank God Letitia hadn't been drafted. Just think what a monstrosity that would have been.

He was a little disappointed to be placed with so many ladies, and all so young; he suspected that Mr. MacFusty and himself would spend more time keeping them out of trouble than doing any real exploring.

"Miss Banges, Miss de Montfault," he greeted, with a little bow. "Miss Burns, Mr. MacFusty. Mr. Ixion Swift, at your service. I believe south would be our most logical departure point--that way, regardless of what time of day we travel, we'll never have the sun directly in our eyes. And it appears that most groups are either going West or East, so we ought to be a little less crowded in that direction."

Hope was surprised and scared, but at the same time she was full of well, hope. She couldnt think of such an honour to go and actually do something for others good, but she was not prepared for this. When she heard about draft she thought that her name wasnt in the poll, just because she was a squib. But when the letter came, she swooned. It was impossible that her name was drafted, but it was true. She couldnt believe that.

When she thought about it more, Hope started to believe that this could be her chance to prove herself. To achieve something in her life despite the fact that she was unable to wield a wand.

This night she couldnt sleep. She was too excited for this and too upset that she was going to leave her parents. Later that day she saw tears in her mothers eyes and she couldnt stop her tears rolling down her cheeks. She tried to be brave for them, but it wasnt that simple.

Early morning she set off from home to find her group. She brought with herself everything that might be useful, like blanket or healing plants. "Good morning" Hope said politely, bowing slightly. "Im Hope Burns." She listened to other opinions about direction and shyly added: "I think that south is a good idea."

    EVENT ANNOUNCER - ROUND 2
    (Coin flip = south)
You travel south through the forest for the rest of the day. It's cool and shaded, but because it is so thick with trees, maneuvering around them proves difficult. You do not come across any creeks or ponds, so are unable to refill your canteens with water. Finally in the late afternoon, you see mountains beginning to rise into the sky. The closer you get, the higher they become until you see that there are two different paths you can take. You could either try and climb the mountain, though it looks fairly steep and would not allow for the horse to be able to make it. The other option is to go to the West to go around the mountain, or at least until you find an easier place to climb. Night will fall soon, so you'll need to find a comfortable place to camp as well.

    Which direction do you take?
    a. Climb the mountain
    b. Go around the mountain

    OOC DIRECTIONS
1.) Have your character vote which route they are to take.

Apparently Mr Swift was their leader. Juliet was not pleased, but she figured that it was a good thing that there was someone older and maturer to lead the expedition. Besides, if they had a good leader, they could return home sooner. They could find whatever they were searching for in the woods, and that would hopefully be before her Coming Out Ball.

After hours for walking, they stopped, near a mountain. The Slytherin looked at the other members of her group, particularly at Mr Swift. What if he suggested to climb that mountain? Everyone, or at least that Hope girl would go with him. Then Juliet would probably fall, break several bones and return home. She did not care about owning land, even if it would be nice to know that she had her own home.

" I think we should find a place to camp." Juliet finally said, hoping that Mr Swift would share her opinion.

Ixion wasn't thrilled at the idea of a mountain in the foreseeable future. Ah, if only he had his broomstick, but that would hardly help the ladies. Still, regardless of what was on the other side of the mountain, it was a mountain, and the girls could hardly be expected to simply hike it, with packs on their backs. So far they had all been decent sports about hiking through the woods, but the woods were a different matter entirely.

When Miss Banges suggested they set up camp, Ix nodded and swung the pack off of his back. "I agree; I don't think we'd best climb that mountain. We can keep along that direction for a bit, around the side of the cliffs, and find a place to camp? I've brought along a tent, which the ladies may use. Mr. MacFusty and I can sleep outside, I'm sure."

Paulette was very careful with her steps. She was very careful with everything. She was scared and excited at the same time.
"Well, I agree with all of you. We must go around the mountain and find some place to camp. Not that I'm tired, but camping is always a good idea."
    #10
Ixion nodded at Miss de Montfault's statement. "It's always better to find a place to camp earlier than you need it," he speculated. "We'll have some time to prepare some food and perhaps discuss some theories for the mountain before we retire for the night."

He was a bit surprised that he was taking as much of the reigns as he had ended up doing; clearly it should have been him and not the females, but Mr. MacFusty was a wealthier man with a more rugged career, and Ix had expected him to have stronger opinions on the matters they were presented with. So far he had been fairly passive, which had left Ix as the leader, not that he minded much.

Continuing along the trail, the older man kept his eyes open for a nice place to camp--somewhere with enough open space to allow for the tent to be set up, definitely. He wasn't sure if he'd prefer the cover of trees or not; on the one hand, it could be nice for the two men if it started to rain to be in the shade of some trees, but on the other, it seemed like a fairly clear night, and the farther away they were from trees, the less chance that something would decided to investigate their camp in the middle of the night. He might also feel better about a camp fire if they weren't surrounded by highly flammable trees.

The first place he saw that suited him was a little alcove sort of tucked into the side of the mountain, semi-sheltered on one side, but far from the cover of trees (and therefore, hopefully, the dangers of the Forbidden Forest). "We could set up here," he suggested. "Or we could keep looking? Are you ladies feeling tired yet?"

Luckily, none of them wanted to climb the mountain. Maybe Mr Swift was not such a bad leader, after all. As long as he didn't want them to do tiring and difficult things, Juliet wouldn't mind him that much.

" This place seems good to me." Juliet replied and sighed. She honestly did not care where they were going to camp. She just wanted to camp. She wanted to sleep and then wake up in her own bedroom back in Bartongbourg.

    EVENT ANNOUNCER - ROUND 3
Your group decides to camp and then go around the mountain the morning. You all are rather well rested, though thirsty. When your group gathers to continue on, you can see that farther to the west is a mountain range that looks easy to climb, though it's covered in a thick forest terrain. Straight ahead of you is a much more difficult looking mountain range which is equally as steep as where you first encountered it, but you are near enough to it now to see that the peaks are covered in snow - which means fresh water for your thirsty party, if you can make it up, that is.

    Which do you choose?
    a. Easier mountains
    b. More difficult mountain

    OOC DIRECTIONS
    1. Make a decision

    Round 4 begins May 26th
If Tavish MacFusty does not post in this round, he will be injured and sent home by the 4th event announcer.

It had taken Ix some time to pack everything up that morning with Mr. MacFusty--the girls were only moderately helpful since most of them seemed never to have dealt with a tent before--and so Ixion was already a little weary-minded, even if his body was fully refreshed, by the time they came to the decision on which mountain to take.

"The snow over there seems like a good idea," he suggested. "Provided that the ladies feel comfortable with the climb. And provided you've all brought warm enough clothing?"
    #14

Her dress was not excactly warm. It was made of a thick material but Juliet was sure that it would be quite chilly up there. Still, they would find water there. Juliet didn't want to die because of dehydration. Besides, there was surely a spell that would keep them warm, right?

" I wouldn't say no to a coat." Juliet commented, looking at the mountain.

After the night Hope felt well rested, however she was thirsty. Upon morning she drained the rest of water she had in her canteen and now she would love to refill it. "But if there is snow..." Hope started "there should be a river or stream down there... Maybe we should just look for water?"
    #16
Paulette bit her lower lip. She wasn't sure if climbing up was such a good idea. Sure, snow meant watter, but it also meant that it will be slippery up there. Her dress was warm enough, but she wasn't sure if her shoes were good enough to climb. She didn't want anything to happen to her. After a while, she said:
äI don't think it's a good idea. Sure, snow means water, but it also means it will be slippery. Anything can happen to us and we don't have a healer in the group. I think miss Burns might be right. We should look for water instead of climbing."
