Appearance: Eridanus looks more like a Black than a Blishwick, which is just fine by him. He is a relatively handsome fellow, though some might find him too "cute" in his appearance as he does seem to have a sort of feminine quality about him. He is dark-haired and dark-eyed, both almost entirely the color of pitch except when the right light hits them. His dark hair is curly like his mother's hair and it has a tendency to grow quickly. Eri has a square-shaped face with a broad jaw. His eyes are narrow and his nose slightly humped. He has fairly thick lips. Eridanus is right-handed.

History:

Eridanus Antares Blishwick was an "oops" baby. Born to Jimbo Blishwick and his wife, Misapinoa (nÚe Black) in the early morning of May 29, 1866. Misapinoa was 41 and Jimbo was 45, nearing 46. That fall, Vela entered into her second year at Hogwarts and Perseus entered into his fifth year.


Eridanus was raised by wet-nurses, nannies, and governesses rather than by his parents. They were both older and neither felt that they could really handle raising a child. Eridanus wasn't particularly a fussy child, but he was very clever. He learned early how to use his charm and sweet manners to persuade his guardians to let him have his way.


It wasn't until he was older, nearly nine years old before his parents started paying attention to him. By that time, all his siblings were grown, graduated and married. His parents were feeling the effects of having an "empty nest," so their attentions and affections turned towards Eridanus. Eridanus was secretly annoyed by their behavior and embittered by their original disregard for him. However, he pretended to enjoy their doting upon him.


In the summer of 1877, Eridanus received his Hogwarts letter. The moment was bittersweet for his parents, for then they truly would have an empty nest. All the same, Eri was taken to Diagon Alley and his things for school were purchased. He chose a cat for his companion. A ¥ kneazle with a faint pattern. He decided to name her Sagitta.


When September came, Eridanus and Sagitta left for school. He was promptly sorted into Slytherin, which made his parents quite proud. Eridanus proved to be an intelligent boy, but he rarely applied himself to school his first and second years at Hogwarts. He was more interested in socializing and being vindictive towards his parents. However, he quickly realized that doing poorly in school wouldn't help him. Therefore, he began to apply himself more to his studies.


Currently in his sixth year at Hogwarts, Eridanus's years at Hogwarts have passed relatively quietly, except for the times he's attempted to see his "Uncle" Phineas, which usually ended in him being promptly excused. (Eridanus has learned that his cousin doesn't like his sense of humor, but he still tries.) He isn't in any clubs or a part of the Quidditch team, as he doesn't really like the sport, but he's proved himself to be a clever boy and a Slytherin through and through.
