Appearance: Ultimately, Cage is handsome but hardly in a conventional way. He has dark features, inherited from his mother's hereditary French features. He is an average sized man, of athletic build and stature and standing just over six feet tall and broad at the shoulders, narrow at the waist. Cage generally sports a few days worth of stubble and a bowler hat, regardless of his company. He has a distinctly rich look about him, even though more often than not he's a little wrinkled and undone.
Cage is a picture of affluence in fine tailored suits and well-made hats, down to the specially made boots that he wears. He is used to the finer things in life and always has been. Cage typically carries a finely made golden pocketwatch and his wand in his left coat pocket, for easy reach for his right hand.
Cage's first appearance to anyone is one of arrogant influence, and he's not one to immediately disrupt that thought process. The eye is drawn to his perpetually bored expression and laid back look about him, as though he has little cares in the world and unlimited time to waste on those cares.
History: On a cold December evening, a screaming boy was brought into the Wakefield house, an affluent family that made their home in London. The Wakefields were a long line of pure blood, and the second son of such an established family should have been a blessing. However, Micajah Silas Wakefield would always be the black sheep of the family even before he could walk and talk. Cage was born at the odds that he would never live up to his older brother Meriwether, at least in his father's eyes. He was not as handsome as Meriwether by his father's standards, nor as quick to stand on his father's coattails. And as his mother died during his childbirth as well, his father was just nigh of thoroughly hating the boy, and continued to make Cage's life hell for it.
George Wakefield, a prominent wizard of the Wizengamot and had little time for the children in any case, in which Merry and Cage were left to their own devices under the care of a governess.
Merry and Cage never were close, and even less so once they began Hogwarts. Merry took to the Slytherin house, like their father had been, and Cage was sorted into the Gryffindor house, giving George yet another reason to hate his son. Soon enough, the pair of boys were alike only in their surname, and were rivals and bitter enemies through school, which only increased after their graduation. Merry was flamboyant and arrogant however, and he soon challenged Cage to a duel that ended with Merry being permanently scared by Cage and their differences too vast to reconcile. This led to George all but disowning his younger son.
Cage found refuge in Hogsmeade when it opened, taking to making a place for himself away from the incorrigible society that shunned his kind and from his despicable father and brother. Cage's figurative fingers are in many pies, garnering him with a comfortable living through his business sense and sociable attitude towards others. Though he possesses a cynical outlook due to his dealings with his family, Cage is ultimately the wounded good guy. He has very few morals, but the ones he has are strong and true, and he'd hardly betray a friend, even if it meant the death of himself.
Cage's future is less certain as he hears that Merry is expected to come to Hogsmeade himself, in possession of a new wife, which raises certain emotions in Cage that he doesn't quite understand. He doesn't want or need a wife, however he is none to be outdone by his weak-chinned brother. At best, he is possibly seeking an arrangement of a business nature, finding a suitable match that wouldn't be terrible to gaze upon, but wouldn't meddle in his affairs either. That would just be too bothersome to suffer.
Personality: Perpetually bored. Arrogant. Affluent. All of these describe Cage on a surface level, and all would be true to an extent. Cage has nice things and is used to them and it is obvious to anyone who converses with him. On a deeper level, Cage isn't quite as superficial as he seems. The superficial air to him was more built of necessity in dealing with his father and his brother, and only his close group of friends know the reality of his persona.
Cage to his friends is fiercely loyal and gracious, willing to do anything for those who would return the favor to him. Cage typically has a very cavalier way about him regarding anything: drinks, money, women. There isn't much that he finds of any real value to care about which is in turn a form of protection he devised long ago. His aloofness and flirtation with society makes him attractive to many a person.
