    Delia,

I'm writing to you with concern; are you alright? I have read horrible things about plagues and now a fire! I told your father it wasn't a good idea to send you all the way up to Scotland on your own. Please tell me you aren't sick or burned to a crisp! I worry immensely for you. If you have been harmed in any way, inform me at once.

Your father shall hear of it.

    With Love,
    Mother

I am quite fine, mother. The fire is ravaging Wellingtonshire and High Street - which does, in the latter's case, subtract from things to do but Bartonburg is being spared it seems. The plague had infected Cousin Fortuna, however, but she is recovered from it now. I don't believe I have succumbed to the plague as I've not yet exhibited any symptoms and I am primarily staying to myself, as Aurelia lives in Wellingtonshire and it would not be a good idea to visit her much as I worry for her safety.

Place no blame on father. Things may be chaotic here but I am safe and father was looking out for my needs. It is, after all, my third season and I've yet to procure any prospects of marriage. He just wants to make sure I'm well looked after in life.

I'll keep you updated on what is going on, of course, but for now I am writing to you in good health.

    All my love,
    Delia

    Delia,

You have so much more potential than just being a man's wife, my little flower.

I am ever so relieved you are safe and unaffected by this awful sickness, especially when I am unable to come visit to nurse you back to health. Make sure you get plenty of sleep and eat three square meals a day, you want to keep in the best of health to avoid catching it.

    With Love,
    Mother
