The News: Nigel

My darling Nigel,

Tragedy has struck our family yet again, I fear, for it seems your grandfather’s candle finally burnt out. He passed away quite suddenly at breakfast yesterday, and I would have written sooner except I was very preoccupied, as you might understand. Oh, Nigel, I know this must be terrible news, but I could not sit upon it any longer in good conscience.

I have, of course, written to your brother and sister, and implore you to remain strong for their sakes. The funeral is scheduled for Thursday next, and I am happy to send for you to attend, but only if it does not set your studies back.
