Despite my betrothal to the Lestrange girl, my life is much the same as normal. The muggles are as utterly ignorant as ever, dumbfounded whenever they see something they cannot explain, the imbeciles.

I sent one my house elves to deliver it to you.

Have you met Miss Lestrange yet? What is she like? Her brother was in the same year as my at Hogwarts but I have never met her before. Be sure to be good to her, Theseus. We are going to become sister-in-laws, after all.

I am very well, little Orestes is perfectly healthy and there is nothing else I could wish for. I hope you are in good health as well, brother.

No, I have not met her yet, neither have I talked to the girl. I have little interest in what she is like; I know that she is pureblooded and of our class and that her father betrothed her to me. What else ought I to care about? She still has her seventh year at Hogwarts to endure, I have plenty of time before I must meet her. I shall be good to her, Phoebe, I shall do all my duties as a husband should she also perform hers.

I am sure she will warm to you quickly, though. Everyone does.


Ah yes, little Orestes. How old is he now? And what are you doing with your days, now, sister, other than being a mother? Are you still learning languages?

I am in spectacular health, thank you. I am less sure about mother, though.
