Charming is a Victorian Era Harry Potter roleplay set primarily in the village of Hogsmeade, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and the non-canon village of Irvingly. Characters of all classes, both magical and muggle — and even non-human! — are welcome.
With a member driven story line, monthly games and events, and a friendly and drama-free community focused on quality over quantity, the only thing you can be sure of is fun!
"Are you always this forward?" He asked teasingly since it would be a very short thread if he just ignored her entirely. — Tobin Cartwright in Take A Peek
Did you know? Churchgoers and worshippers had to endure a foul stench during prayers due to the amount of bodies often stored within the vaults of churches and chapels.
Hello cousin! (Well, second-cousin, and given our respective fathers' age gaps I am not entirely sure it counts, but.)
You must forgive me for writing unexpectedly; the Quidditch World Cup has put me in the mood to talk about Quidditch until the end of all time, despite not having made the team. (I did not expect to in the first place, with my competition being three very good keepers - while I am confident in my own abilities, they are male and you know what people think of we female Quidditch players.) Besides, not playing does not mean I cannot enjoy the QWC!
I intend to go to every game. All of them.
I was wondering what your plans are, with you being a seventh year about to finish schooling?
Cousins, second cousin, doesn't make much of a difference. Family is family. Unless you're bad family, then you don't deserve family.
I'm sorry to hear you won't be on the team, but at least we can be companions for a few if I wind up going? We can complain about the foreign teams, and root for the home team. And it'll be fun. Lots, and lots, and lots of fun.
I haven't made many plans other than potentially working with Mr. Grimstone and crafting brooms. Why, what'd you have in mind?
You do realize I haven't played in over a year, right? I have lost a substantial amount of weight, and I'm not sure if I can even be half as good as I used to be. Are you sure you want me?
You're seventeen, weight and experience are recovered pretty easily.
I can either have someone who hasn't played for a year but that I know is reliable, or I can struggle to find a foreigner or someone with no experience at all.
Would I still have time to work under Mr. Grimstone? I'm mostly testing his brooms currently, but I want to craft them as well. And would I have a guaranteed shot at first string? I don't want to be stuck behind someone my entire life when I'm a "natural".
I don't think it would be hard for you to work with him around our schedule; after all, pro quidditch players write books or breed animals or have families or whatever all the time!
Harpies don't usually last more than a few seasons, they tend to get married on me. And when you end up better than the first-string seeker, I'm sure the sponsors would switch you around.
It's settled with the team's owner. Come to my house ([insert Grace's address here]) and we'll head to Holyhead to introduce you to everyone. Once that's settled, we're going to talk to Mr. Quiddel from the Prophet. As insufferable as the man is, he has his uses, and one of them is telling the world that we have a new second-string seeker.
