Everything Is Clear In Our World

Every word he spoke took her breath away. He called her beautiful and he thought her smile was beautiful and that made so happy. There was no way to know if he truly meant it, but Ellory didn't really want to think about it because if he didn't mean his words she'd probably be sad.

"You talk as if I am a veela!" Ellory joked rather awkwardly as the person working for the tent handed her three hoops. "Let's see if I can win that stuffer lion over there..." She murmured and then aimed for the first hoop. Surprisingly, she didn't miss. The second hoop was farther, but she hit that as well. When she also hit the third, she jumped sligthly and then handed Edward the stuffer animal she had won. "Your turn!"

He could not help but smile at her small joke. If he wanted to talk about her like that, then he would. He was reading sonnets and poems a lot, it probably had an impact on his choice of words when he was complimenting people. And Ellory, being his betrothed, was definitely worthy of his compliments. “Allow me to. It is not often I am so lucky to be with such a beautiful young lady.” He said with a smile.

As she decided to try and win the lion and eventually got it, he smiled and carefully took the lion. “I doubt I will be as lucky as you.” He said but he decided to try anyway. He just hoped that he would be able to get something for her as well. He carefully aimed and managed to win a small stuffed bear. “Not as exciting or meaningful as a lion, but I hope you will forgive me.” He said as he handed the bear to Ellory

If he talked to her like that now, then Ellory wasn't sure what it would be like when they actually married. They would probably be like those from the romantic books, or at least something similar. Then again, there was no way of knowing if he actually meant his words. And he could easily see other ladies that he liked more than her while she was at school. He was a man and she was still only a girl. A girl on her way of becoming a woman, but a girl nonetheless.

"Bears are nice." Ellory replied as she held the stuffed animal close to her chest. "They strong and many fear them. I certainly wouldn't want to be in an angry bear's way." Not that she had actually seen a bear in her life, but she had read about them and it wasn't difficult to imagine what a bear would look like. "Are you going to name your lion?"

Edward trusted himself enough to keep the more than necessary polite compliments from other ladies. Sure an occasional a polite compliment would come, but it was only to be expected from him. The only lady he could see himself showering with compliments like now, was Ellory.

Her reaction to the bear was one thing he was very grateful for. “I seem to remember reading that bears are also very protective of their territories and their cubs.” He said with a smile. “Well, had it been a female, I would probably say Ellory, but I think it is a male. Maybe Godric, because of the lion being the house sign of Gryffindor.” He said with a smile. “And you? Will you be naming your bear?”

Ellory was not sure if Edward was comparing her to a bear, but she supposed it was not a bad thing. She could imagine herself being similar to a bear once they were married and had children. Had children! That seemed so strange and odd to the girl and thinking about it made her sligthly guilty. There were two years before they could even marry, children would probably come in three or four years!

"Ellory! Way to be creative!" Ellory teased him. The idea of him naming the stuffed lion Ellory and keeping it made her feel unusually happy, though. Would he keep the lion somewhere close to him? Would he keep it until they were actually married?

"I think I'll name him. Or her. If it's a she she could be... Regina?" No, that was her sister's name. "Or Callisto. That would suit the whole bear theme!"

Edward was trying his best to be careful with his choice of words. He did not wanted to make Ellory angry at him, but he was thinking of it as a complimented, and it was not even close to his mine to say it any other way. “Well, it just shows that you will have something to say once the time comes for having children he said. “And that I will want to remember who gave me this lion.” He said with a smile.

“I will leave you to name your bear, I hope you will not find any problems during the rest of the day. Unfortunately you will have to excuse me. I have work soon and I would not like to be late. I hope you understand, dear Ellory.”

Merlin, children! How strange it would be when they could actually have children. Would they have many of those? Or maybe just two, or even just one? Would they play with them in the garden, or would they be parents similar to most of the upper class ones? She couldn't help but list some possible names in her head. Edward, Edmund or even Edbert for their sons, and the girls could be Ethel, Elinor, Edeline, Elga, Elizabeth...

"Of course I understand, Edward!" Ellory added, rather absent-mindedly. "Have a nice day at work!"

Even after he had left, Ellory was still thinking about their meeting, though she tried to keep all those names away from her head. She didn't want to spoil their possible happiness with hopeful thoughts, not when it was still two years away.
