Hung In: June 9th, 1885
Physical Description:
This life-sized portrait (life-sized if Darcy had actually been seven feet tall, at least) depicts our beloved leader as fate should have: as a pirate captain aboard a large frigate of his own, surrounded by loyal seamen, the sassy pirate princess Ellie (modelled after the late Eulalie Potter), and with the threat of a kraken tentacle draped over the rail nullified by the captain’s razor-sharp cutlass.History:
Physically, Darcy maintains the same dark mop of hair (left longer, now, and secured with a maroon ribbon) and grey eyes that have always adorned him, though has been painted as considerably better built. For some inexplicable reason, he is depicted as closer to thirty than his actual age (21 at the time of his death), with a bit of scruff adorning his chin to signify his I-don’t-need-a-razor attitude toward seafaring. He dresses in stereotypical pirate attire and his hands are adorned with myriad rings.
PRE-PAINTING: The Captain’s knowledge of his background ends with Christmas of 1884, and contains only common-knowledge details. He was a Gryffindor (though not prefect) during his time at Hogwarts before obtaining an internship at the Ministry of Magic. Through feats of heroism (okay, perhaps that bit was embellished), he was rightly proclaimed Minister of Magic at a very young age. He enjoyed the love of his wife and son, and suffered the loss of his father and sister.
THE CONSPIRACY: But it was not to go on forever. After his brother’s wedding, an attempt was made upon Darcy’s life! Not wishing to draw his family into danger, our brave captain faked his own death and ran off to a life on the high seas. He will always carry with him the regret of not saying goodbye, but knows it to be for the best.
SAILING FOR ADVENTURE: A born leader, it was no time at all before he found himself captaining his own ship, crewed by the men on the ships he assailed—but mercifully allowed to live. He has battled kraken, besieged cities, and even rescued the pirate princess, Ellie, from the hands of his ruthless nemesis, Captain Spartan*. All this he has done with glowing success…but he can never succeed in escaping the troubles of his past.
THE TROUBLES: In addition to the woe from Darcy’s actual background, the artist has created…
— a gambling addiction he does not know isn’t fictionalized.
— the tragic death of Darcy’s late wife at the hands of those who tried to kill him.
— the evil twin he had committed to the asylum.
— he killed a blood purist in a bar brawl but was never found out.
*An actual portrait by the same artist, currently hanging down in the courtroom atrium.

Personality:
Captain Potter is still very much the dutiful, loyal man that the real Darcy was, though his smugness has intensified with all of his heroic, seafaring deeds. He has been painted as an insatiable flirt, though only because he has resigned himself to a life with Ellie, who he does not truly love. He also has a tendency to break out into sea shanties.Sample Roleplay Post:
Diligently, Darcy had stood beside his brother—as Bennet had stood beside him, nearly two years prior—as the eldest Potter exchanged rings with his new bride. This wedding was not quite so saddening as the one that had preceded it, as no one was recently deceased (though Darcy had had a bit of a brush with death earlier in the month). Both of the Potter lads were plainly pleased with how events had transpired. Miss Browne, Darcy had quickly decided was (apart from being altogether far too tall) lovely, and had enough firmness about her to stop Ben from being a total idiot. The ceremony itself had gone off without a hitch—at least, as far as he knew—and now the happy newlyweds were leading the guests from the room, Darcy among them.
Idly, his eyes scanned the crowd for the red hair of his wife. Eulalie’s pregnancy—however welcome—had fortunately not progressed far enough for her to be clearly showing, though he suspected her corset for the day was a bit looser than usual. It was not the appearance of the other Mrs. Potter that stopped him in his tracks, however, but the fact the appearance of what seemed to be a completely different female Potter.
Lottie? No, impossible, Darcy thought, though the woman did have a bit of Charlotte about her (though even had his sister been alive, he suspected she would not have subjected herself to pregnancy again). Clearly, the familial feeling of the festivities had left him subconsciously thinking of his sister. That had to be it.
Still…
In spite of himself, the minister made his way over to the woman—Bennet would surely forgive him for delaying—tapping her lightly on the elbow. “Excuse me, madam?” Darcy asked, not sure what he had intended to follow it with.
