Armando might not have been as thrilled about this party as he really ought to have been, by Ophelia's reckoning, but that was because he was the worst. Everyone else thought it was a splendid party, including Armando's friend Mr. Winkle--and he was known for throwing outrageously good parties, so his praise was a considerable boon to her. That being said, though she assumed the party was going marvelously, she hadn't spent much time enjoying it, so far--mostly she'd just been flitting around from guest to guest, greeting everyone and ensuring that everything was going smoothly. She'd hardly had a minute to herself to even breathe, much less seek out some gentleman to flirt with or a dance partner, or even one of her friends with whom she could exchange some gossip.

Now, though, she found herself momentarily without anyone left waiting on her attention, and Ophelia wasn't sure quite what to do with herself. She caught sight of one of the little ships waiting in a nearby port, and jumped at the opportunity to sit down a minute. She didn't even ask where it was departing to as she climbed in, perching on a seat near the back and looking out over the Atlantic Ocean. The illusion really was very good--Ophelia was sure that as they set sail she could almost feel the sea breeze on her cheek!

There were others in the boat but she took no notice of them; this was her one chance to breathe for a moment! She did, however, ensure that she was sitting up straight and angling her body towards the rest of the boat, so that her explorer-inspired outfit was on proper display. She was proud of her little costume, so she wasn't going to miss an opportunity to show it off!

Ophelia was forced to pay somewhat less attention to her posture (and the subsequent view of her outfit it would allow for the rest of the passengers on the boat) when the picturesque little voyage was interrupted by a clap of thunder. Ophelia frowned up at the ceiling, where menacing storm clouds were starting to form. The waters around the boat began to grow tumultuous, causing the little vessel to rock from side to side. "That shouldn't happen," Ophelia muttered to herself, continuing to frown at the sky. She hadn't gone through each and every one of the illusions prior to the party, but surely no one had thought it was a good idea to include hurricanes?

Open to 1-3 other party guests!

Gilroy loved eccentric things like this old man's birthday party. They were all so full of surprises and adventures. The last good themed party he'd been to was that wild maze party with all the giant shrubs and hidden passage. This though, this was far more entertaining.

Gil had been gallivanting around land now for awhile and decided it was time to take things to the high seas. He wondered passingly if there might be pirates, or better yet, if he could be a pirate as he jumped aboard the nearest boat. Shortly after making himself comfortable against one of the large wooden rails Gil noticed a young woman board right before the boat launched. The women wore and elaborate costume that reminded him of an adventurer in those penny dreadfuls or even a little like some of the girls back home that worked with the local dragons.

They hadn't been at "sea" long when the boat rocked suddenly as the wave began to rise and crash against the hull. Gil had seen plenty of storms rolling in on the coast of Scotland but he preferred to watch them from land as opposed on a boat in the middle of them. Though of course this was a party.

"That shouldn't happen," Gil heard, just barely between the cracks of thunder.

"What, not afraid of a little illusion are you" Gil asked with a chuckle

Oh, a MacFusty. Had she invited them? She supposed she must have, if one of them was in the boat with her. Ophelia had gone over the guest list before giving the order to have the invitations drawn up and sent out, but it had been rather hurried, and it seemed she had missed the MacFustys as she crossed off the undesireables--or at least one of them. Well, she was being unfair--there were a few decent MacFustys mixed in to the clan, and those good ones were surely in attendance as well--they would hopefully be able to corral the more rowdy ones should anything unfortunate happen.

In any case, Mr. MacFusty's presence here would likely not result in the house being burnt down. At least she hoped not. Her grandfather would be very cross if the house burnt down.

Ophelia merely frowned at him. "Illusions are one thing, but I shouldn't like to see us capsized," she muttered, glaring over the side at the growing waves. Capsizing was seeming likelier by the minute, as the boat continued to rock. Ophelia didn't want to get her dress wet (particularly not since the top of it was just a thin white shirt and it wouldn't hold up well to that sort of thing at all). She gripped the side of the boat tightly, her knuckles starting to whiten as it rocked once more. Surely there was a spell to get rid of this troublesome storm before it did any real damage?
