    Adasia Mohr vs. Oliver Trask
    #1
Well this looked like a shoe-in for Trask. Why was she even here? Maybe the girl would prove surprisingly able but Moira highly doubted it. She read the rules and then gave a sigh of exasperation.

    "Miss Mohr may start."

This was the longest she had competed in a dueling tournament. She liked to think that she might win, but beating a sixth and seventh year would be hard.

Still she did the best she could and charmed a pair of shoes to dance.

A second year? Either she was very good at magic, or all of her other opponents had really bungled their spells. Ignoring Professor Prewett's aggravated sigh, he attempted to transfigure a sheet of parchment into a rat.

It looked as though Mr. Trask had it, his spell seemed to be more advanced! That is until the parchment only half transfigured leaving a piece of parchment with the front end of a rat attached to it. The rat-parchment then seemed to turn on it's transfigurer and bit the boy's ankle. Moira couldn't exactly award him the duel for having a half-transfigured object that bit the caster instead of the opponent.

"Miss Mohr wins the first round..." she announced almost hesitantly. "Mr. Trask may begin the next."

    [Scores: Adasia 12, Oliver 11] + 6 for injury

Sweet Merlin, but the thing could bite! Another misstep like that and he would lose the whole thing to a third year! Grimacing with embarrassment and doing his best to ignore the new pain in his ankle, he attempted to transfigure the dummy into a cat.

Well that was a surprise! Adasia knew that she was pretty and talented, but she hadn't expected to beat a sixth year!

She cast a charm to make the shoes sing.

Had Mr. Trask been hit with a curse for bad luck? Or was he a very weak boy, unable to help himself in the presence of a girl? The dummy had a tail, a cat head and cat paws but still had a very distorted dummy shape to it. Miss Mohr's shoes were singing quite merrily, however. Well this was not what she had expected at all.

"Miss Mohr has won the duel..." she announced, unable to not sound surprised. "Five points to Gryffindor..."

    [Scores: Adasia 11, Oliver 10]
