Appearance:

Standing at 6’3 ½”, Ald is taller than most of his sons and just as muscular despite his advancing age. He has blue-green eyes and graying brown hair that he keeps short. He is equally comfortable in trousers or a kilt, and with a sword or a wand. Donald is right handed.

History:

1830 — Donald Tadhg MacFusty is the third child and first son born to Connor and Abigail MacFusty.

1833 — Twins Conall and Catriona are born.

1836 — Mungo joins the family. Rodina goes to Hogwarts and is sorted into Gryffindor.

1838 — Sorcha is born.

1839 — Effie joins Rodina at Hogwarts.

1840 — Fiona is the last child to join the MacFusty family.

1841 — Donald goes to Hogwarts and is sorted into Gryffindor.

1842 — Griselda Cockburn begins her Hogwarts education in Gryffindor. When she stands up to his teasing, Ald is impressed — not that he lets on. Donald tries out for and makes the Gryffindor quidditch team. Already as large as some boys several years his senior, he is a good fit for beater.

1843 — Rodina completes her education and debuts. Donald and Griselda turn from teasing to friendship. Ald starts calling her Grizzly (or just Griz) for her pure spunk, saying she’s “as tough as a grizzly bear”.

1844 — The twins join their siblings in Gryffindor.

1845 — During the first half of his fifth year Donald realizes that his feelings for Griselda — awkward, gangly Grizzly — are something far deeper than mere friendship. He tries to hide his feelings, thinking that she won’t feel the same way.

1846 — Before they part for the summer, Donald steals Griz’s first kiss, which is his first kiss as well. Effie completes her education. That fall, he returns to find that Grizzly is no longer awkward at all, but has blossomed into a truly beautiful young woman.

1847 — Mungo is sorted into Gryffindor.

1848 — In April, Ald proposes to Grizzly. Donald completes his education and begins work as a dragonkeeper. He tells his mother he wants to marry a girl his age, which gains him a lecture on responsibility.

1849 — Griselda graduates; Donald marries her in June. Sorcha is also sorted into Gryffindor.

1850 — Ald and Griz have their first child, a boy named Kentigern. He is called Tiger for short.

1851 — Fiona joins her older siblings in Gryffndor. The twins graduate.

1852 — Griselda gives birth to twin boys who are named Torquil and Tavish. From the beginning they are large children.

1853 — They have a fourth son and name him Hamish.

1854 — Mungo graduates and joins the family business. Griz and Ald have a fifth son, James.

1855 — Griselda and Donald’s sixth son, Roderick, is born.

1856 — Sorcha graduates. Ninian, a seventh son, is born.

1858 — Malcolm, their eighth son, is born. Fiona graduates and comes out.

1860 — Son number nine, Gilroy, is born.

1861 — Angus, son number ten, is born. Tiger begins school and is sorted into Gryffindor.

1862 — Another set of twins is born prematurely. Alasdair and Archibald survive for a few weeks before passing on. The entire time is stressful and full of tears for Donald and Griselda, and they discuss whether or not they should have more children before deciding to try for a daughter.

1863 — Tor and Tav join their older brother in Gryffindor.

1864 — Donald and Griselda have an eleventh surviving son, Mungo, who is called Dunny. Hamish begins his education in Gryffindor.

1865 — Ald and Grizzly finally have a daughter, who they name Malvina. James goes off to Hogwarts.

1866 — Roddy goes off to Hogwarts.

1868 — Kentigern graduates and becomes a dragonkeeper. Ninian goes to Hogwarts.

1869 — A (welcome) surprise comes in the form of baby Robert MacFusty. Mac begins his Hogwarts education.

1870 — The twins graduate; Tor brings home his fiancee, Miss Calista Cowden. In a tragic turn of events, the young lady is killed four days into their engagement when the pair take a romantic outing together into a supposedly safe area of the isles. Tor collapses into a deep depression after being unable to save Calista, and once he crawls out of it enough that he can function he and Tav become dragonhunters.

1871 — Hammy graduates.

1872 — Angus goes to Hogwarts. Jamie graduates.

1873 — Roddy graduates.

1874 — Tiger marries Miss Birgit Cavanaugh, who the family calls Birdie.

1875 — Birdie and Tiger produce Griz and Ald’s first grandchild, a boy named Kennard. Ninian completes his time at Hogwarts. Dunny begins his education.

1876 — Mac graduates and joins the family business. Vina begins at Hogwarts.

1879 — Gus graduates and joins the family business.

1880 — Vina and Dunny are taken to the toddling isles by some of their older brothers during the winter holidays. Dunny loses an arm and Vina is heavily scarred, but thankfully both children survive. Ald and Griz are furious with Tiger and Jamie, and Dunny is unable to complete the year at Hogwarts.

1881 — Rabbie begins his first year in Gryffindor. Dunny returns to Hogwarts to repeat his sixth year, now in the same year as Vina.

1882 — Mac has a daughter, Isobel, with Roxana; Da is suspicious about their marriage.

Vina is expelled for supposed (and later disproven) lewd behavior; however, she is stolen away from her engagement party (for the reluctantly allowed marriage Ald’s mother had set up) by a Mr. Dylan Baines. She is left pregnant.

1883 — Tor marries a young lady named Cecily that he got involved with because of the tea scandal; they produce a son named Connor in October.

Tavish takes in a bastard daughter of his named Katherine, and later weds Miss Ethelyn Vaisey. His wife dies in premature childbirth in December.

Hamish marries Miss Violet Ollivander in October.

Mac’s woman leaves, and he confesses to his parents that they were never married.

Dunny completes his education and takes a job in the Ministry of Magic in the Beast Division of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.

Vina has twin boys, Dragon and Wolf; her boy moves in with her after he completes school.

1884 — Birdie has twins, but both die and she kills herself.

The family is thrown into chaos when Tor decides he wants to divorce his pregnant wife in favor of a young lady he has fallen in love with named Rozenn Lozach. However, when he feels that Miss Lozach has left him he collapses into depression once more, something that (while thankfully short lived because Tavish goes to fetch her) convinced Ald that Tor is really serious about this young lady.

Vina’s boy leaves the day she births their third child, Enid; it is the day before Vina's birthday. She becomes depressed and is brought back to the castle to be with family. In the end the three children she has which are not hers are passed off, the twin girls to an orphanage and the boy to a childless cousin and his wife. Ald and Grizzly take in their grandchildren and rename them Cináed, Conall, and Eilidh. If asked, they vaguely claim the children are the offspring of ‘one of their sons’.

Robert asks to bring home a friend over the summer.

Personality:

A MacFusty through and through, Ald is rough and tumble and easily led by his emotions. He is highly passionate, and only gained the ability to really reflect on and think decisions through as he aged. He sometimes writes poetry for his beloved wife.

Sample Roleplay Post:

Ald got to the nursery shortly after Tor got there with his new lass, hanging outside the door and wondering if he should interrupt them or not. The state his second son had been in over the last few days had him worried, and the difference now ... it was clear that this girl had been the key to 'fixing' him. She was the one he couldn't bear to lose now, which was worrying since he was married to Cecily. He'd never thought that a good idea, but he could hardly live his children's lives for them.

After a few minutes of shameless eavesdropping, Ald decided it was best to have a good look at this girl for himself. He had two options, really: either he could try to wean Tor off of her (a difficult task at best) or he could support his son and try to help him find a way to separate from his wife with minimal damage to either party. He wasn't sure there was a way, but if there was then he and his Grizzly could find it.

Strolling casually into the nursery, Ald walked over to pick up baby Ellie (Conall and Cináed were playing together, fighting over a toy dragon) and then turned to his son and this Miss Lozach. "Sae yer th' wee lass 'at captured mah son's heart."
