Hawthorn — A wand well suited to both healing magic and curses, Virgil is equally conflicted in his nature. He could have been great, but his own laziness prevented that. He was still driven by his ambition to make something of himself, but not near what he could have been if he had been more of a hard worker.
Troll Wisker — The core of Virgil's wand is a troll's facial hair. At least, he hopes it's facial hair.
Ten Inches — Being neither particularly tall nor particularly strong of character, Virgil has a slightly shorter than average wand.
Rigid — Virgil is far from flexible; rather, he is somewhat set in his ways.

Appearance: Virgil has thinning brown hair and striking green eyes. Standing at 5'7", he is very average in height and is slender. His clothes are of good quality and fit well, but are usually a little rumpled. Virgil is right handed.

History:

1847 — Virgil Cornelius Blishwick is born as the first child of Jimbo and Misapinoa Blishwick.

1851 — The Blishwicks have a second child, a girl they name Drusilla.

1853 — Virgil shows signs of magic, throwing toys without touching them in a tantrum.

1857 — The Blishwicks bear a third child, another girl who they name Lucretia.

1858 — Virgil begins his Hogwarts education and is sorted into Slytherin.

1859 — Virgil's cousin Phineas Black joins him in Slytherin.

1862 — Another girl enters the Blishwick family and is named Octavia. Virgil is named Prefect in the fall. Drusilla joins Virgil at Hogwarts.

1865 — Virgil completes his education and goes into the Auror Training Program.

1866 — After just over a year Virgil fails out of the Auror Training Program and goes to work in the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes. His youngest sister, Portia, is born.

1868 — Lucretia begins her Hogwarts education.

1869 — Drusilla debuts and almost immediately finds a serious suitor.

1871 — After several years in the Ministry, Virgil begins a half-hearted search for a wife. After finding no one that meets his standards within six months, he gives up for the time being. Drusilla marries a man she has been courting since shortly after her debut.

1873 — Octavia begins her Hogwarts education.

1875 — Lucretia completes her education and debuts. She has more trouble than Drusilla finding a suitor.

1877 — Virgil leaves his parents' house and moves to a modest house in Wellingtonshire. Portia begins attending Hogwarts.

1878 — Lucretia marries.

1880 — Virgil is promoted to Assistant Head of the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes. He moves to a much larger home in Wellingtonshire, large enough for a wife and children to be very comfortable. Octavia graduates and begins seeking a husband.

1883 — Virgil is promoted to Head of the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes after Mr. Macnair leaves. Shortly before his thirty-sixth birthday he decides it's high time he finds a wife.

Personality: Needy and self centered — Virgil is not exactly the most pleasant fellow to be around.

Sample Roleplay Post:

The young lady — the young Lestrange lady — who had joined Virgil as he waited for the rest of the guests to arrive to tonight's dinner party was pretty, but pretty young ladies had always proven to be a disappointment in the past. Virgil had not been really looking for a wife in the past, at least not in the way that his father wanted him to. He should not have to put so much effort into finding a bride. He was, after all, the Blishwick heir!

Unfortunately, that fact had not served him as well as he wanted it to. He bowed slightly to Miss Lestrange with a warm smile. "It is lovely to meet you as well, Miss Lestrange." She sounded slightly foreign, and Virgil vaguely remembered that one of the Lestranges had married on the continent but nothing past that. "Are you enjoying Hogsmeade?" he asked, going with the assumption that Miss Lestrange was a child of this Lestrange that had left Britain.
