Appearance:

Benilda’s lightly hued green eyes are framed perfectly by her arched brows and dark brown hair - which stretches gradually below her shoulders. She possesses a rather seductive or sinister look, open to the interpretation of the individual looking upon her, that is further demonstrated by her strict posture and rather ominous, yet up to date and appropriate to class, fashion sense. Her stature slightly falls below her sisters, standing at 5’3”, though she remains slimmer with desired curves. She uses her right hand for wandwork.

History:

1855 | Benilda is born to mother Enid and father Ernest as the middle child. She finds her elder brother somewhat amusing and plays with him occasionally.
1857 | Sister Ursula is born. Benilda hadn’t prepared herself for the birth of another female thus was taken aback upon her arrival.
1859 | Benilda exhibits her first signs of magic by causing a vase to fall near Ursula, while she was playing, in order to get her in trouble. Unfortunately, their parents weren’t the most attentive thus cared little about punishment. She pouted and retreated back to her room.
1866 | The summer of her eleventh birthday brought with it her expected Hogwarts letter and a little shopping trip. She cared little for the specifics of the trip but enjoyed shopping for her own pet - a little cat named Nibs. He was a silver himalayan who practically bounced out of the shop right at her feet. A few days had passed since when she noticed he wasn’t by her side and an additional day until she found out he had been run over by a carriage led by an older gentleman. To this day, she will not board a carriage with someone who is noticeably aged or who has greying or white hair. She was unmistakably sorted into the Slytherin house.
1867 - 1871 | Her first five years at the castle were somewhat entertaining, starting with her elective choices of Ancient Studies and Arithmancy. She garnered quite a few friendships within her house, given similar personalities and attitudes, and enjoyed the little time she had before her sister joined the same house within her third year. Benilda tried to ignore her to the best of her ability and reserved her free time for friends and watching quidditch games, neglecting most of her school work. She figured her parents wouldn’t care anyways. As a result, her OWLs reflected these actions, returning moderate scores. She decided to continue with Ancient Studies, Charms, DADA, and Potions.
1872 | Within her sixth year, Benilda found out that one of her friends was crossed by a male peer of the Gryffindor house. She worked to make his life a living hell until his graduation next year and issued the help of her dormmates to make her goal obtainable. She lost the friend as a result of her cruel actions and regretted taking more of an upfront approach. While she wanted to maintain the friendship, for one reason or another, she didn’t want to seem weak or attempt to beg for forgiveness, so left it as is.
1873 | Her seventh year acted as a mirror for her fifth, returning similarly scored NEWT scores as the ones obtained on her OWLs. She graduates and is courted by Ambrose Greengrass.
1875 | The couple consummates their engagement two months prior to their wedding in August, resulting in their first son, Byron, born the following year in March. Benilda was confused if her desire for Ambrose was due to lust or actual love, but went along with it nonetheless. She became irritated with his insistence on the fact that she was but a “wife” and should dote on their son, so took to society rather quickly as an outlet. In addition to creating ties with others of her respective class, she began taking a notice to eligible men a few years her senior and, when Ambrose was out of the house, pursued them in a flirtatious manner. Her lust led to increased activity in the bedroom, which pleased her husband and kept him off of her trail.
1878 | Two years after the birth of their first son, Benilda gives birth to another boy named Lysander. Since her social circle has grown considerably, she is able to convince Ambrose that she goes shopping with one of the staff and that the task would bore him anyways. She never follows through with more of a physical relationship with the gentlemen, just, so she claims it, harmless flirtation for attention.
1881 | Her encounters with Ambrose grow less and less enticing. Nevertheless, she births another child - a daughter, finally - to which she names Permelia. She learns to favor her sons more and sort of realizes why her parents may have been distant - the children really were not that well behaved - though refused to associate herself with their failure in attentiveness.
1884 | Her fourth and final child is born, named Orphia after Ambrose’s great grandmother - per his insistence -, and Benilda almost swears off having another child lest her current ones begin acting with proper behaviors. This only fuels her ambition to get out of the house daily to avoid them, despite the fact that when out in public the children act like angels.
1886 | Benilda still does not get on well with Ursula and, to the best of her ability, refrains from being in the same area with her unless necessary. She prefers her brother anyways and can manage having at least one sibling who isn’t her rival. She continuously attends social events and gatherings and has even begun trying to match up her friends with some of the men she meets who she deems are unfavorable to her. While tempting to send Ursula a letter with several of these men’s names, she thinks better of herself to give her sister the pleasure of knowing she’s on Benilda’s mind.

Personality:

Benilda is the type to think her anger is contained behind a calm face, despite how noticeable her reaction may be to the situation. She prefers passive aggressive behaviors to full on confrontation, however will not refrain from such if need be. Heightened emotions often occur among those of lesser or “impure” status - a trait shared by her sister - though is far from limited to but one sect of wizarding society. She is snarky and will not refrain from tearing someone down little by little if they cross her.

Family is important to her in some regard. She does deeply care about her children, but to consider herself an accessory to her husband is not something she will readily accept. Benilda will make a point to clarify her importance in the marriage if the topic is brought up. Her childhood provided more than enough opportunity to formulate a self-entitled behavior that has remained prevalent in her adult life. As such, she will do most anything to obtain what she desires and will not stop until her task is complete.
