Amelia stands at a perfectly average 5' 2" tall, with a small bust but wide hips. She has dirty blond hair that she wears in simple buns most of the time, and round, blue-green eyes. A light dusting of freckles covers the bridge of her nose. Her lips are full with a near-constant smile tugging at their corners. Fashion has always baffled Amy, so she tends to stick to simple cuts without too many embellishments. She is right handed.
History:
1861 | Amy is born. Though she was conceived as her parents' last-ditch effort for a second son, they love her all the same.Personality:
1862 | Emmaline is off to Hogwarts, though Amy is much too young to remember.
1864 | Eugene leaves for Hogwarts. Young Amy is quite put out at being left behind and misses him terribly!
1867 | Victoria graduates and makes her debut in the summer. In the fall, Margie joins the other Scamander siblings at Hogwarts. Amy, now quite independent due to the large age gap between her and the rest of her siblings, is less upset at Margie leaving her and more at the fact that she has to wait five more years until it's her turn.
1868 | Emmaline graduates, and Eugene becomes prefect. Meanwhile, Amy shows her first sign of magic by transfiguring the doll she was given to play with into a wooden train. Mama Scamander starts bringing her out to join her in philanthropy more often, and Amy is both glad to be useful and captivated by the plight of those less fortunate.
1871 | Eugene graduates and starts working at the Ministry, and Victoria marries a middle-class man. Amy is largely unfazed by both of these events, because in just one year she gets to start at Hogwarts!
1872 - 1874 | FINALLY HOGWARTS WHEE!! Amy is sorted into Gryffindor, and her independent spirit ensures that she doesn't get the least bit homesick. She figures out quickly that she doesn't quite mesh with most of the other upper class, pureblooded girls, but makes friends easily from all walks of life. At the end of her second year, she chooses Muggle Studies and COMC as her electives.
1876 | Amy is pleasantly surprised to receive a prefect's badge in the mail over the summer! She does well enough on her OWLs to continue in several subjects. This year also marks the beginning of her growing interest in liberal politics -- in fact, she often begins writing letters to the editor of several newspaper espousing liberal views under the pen name Antonius Stark. Meanwhile, Eugene spends a year in America.
1879 | Amy graduates with several NEWTs and debuts into society. However (to the surprise of absolutely no one), the life of an upper class debutante quickly proves far too boring, useless, and restrictive for Amy's tastes, and so she decides to move in with Eugene and his wife in Hogsmeade to find something more productive to do with her time.
She applies to be a Crime and Politics Reporter for the Prophet, but somehow gets placed in Social and Gossip. She very nearly declines the job to become a healer instead, but then decides to make the S&G department her project. She hopes her influence will steer the column away from gossip and useless nattering and more towards philanthropic efforts in the community. (SPOILER ALERT:) Her hopes are rather quickly dashed over the first year of her tenure, and her coverage of social events and gossip slowly develops a thin veneer of sarcasm (aside from charity events, of course!).
188o | Eugene and Polly have a boy, Cirus. Amy is almost has happy as the parents and dotes on the infant. Amy has one or two suitors show interest in her, but she is far too flighty and independent to really see herself tied down to a husband.
1881 | Cirus dies. Sadness happens. Polly starts breeding hippogriffs. While not as cute as babies, Amy finds the creatures much more interesting!
1884 | Eugene decides to run for Minister of Magic, and Amy is beyond enthusiastic and utterly convinced that he would be the perfect minister! She is severely disappointed when he loses, but finds Mr. Urquart to be an acceptable alternative. Then the fire burns their house down and everything is terrible, but their family friend August Echelon-Arnost saves the day by letting them stay with him until their house is repaired. Baby Wren is born.
1885 | Amy's life is business as usual, trying to keep herself from murdering everyone else in the S&G department as she slowly bides her time until Fidelia Spiller either retires or dies so she can take over the column and make it what she wants it to be. (Or gets too impatient and quits, and runs away to be a corset burner. You know. Whatever comes first.)
Independent. Kind. Generous. Stubborn. Blindly Idealistic. Liberal. Free Spirit. Dry sense of humor. Sarcastic.Sample Roleplay Post:
