It's a Party, Now... Can We Court?
    #1
    August 12th, 1887 - Evening

Acacia wasn't very used to evenings like this. Especially not recently. Sure, the food at Hogwarts was amazing, but this was... it was fantastic. And she could never get over just how beautiful the house was. She felt like she was in a dream. A very nice dream, with wonderful people. Her family, and the De Dampierre family. She didn't know just what was going to happen, but she did know that she was both nervous and excited for what Lewis was planning to ask her father.

The dinner was in a smaller dining room than most parties were generally held. But that was fine, given that they didn't have a lot of guests, and it was a slightly less big of an event. Instead, it was just her father, and sisters, as well as his mother and sister, and his sister's husband and son. She smiled at Augusta. She was glad to get to see her friend once more, and also was glad to see the rest of his family. She liked getting to spend time with them.

She was trying to think of what to say. What did one say at events like this? They had already had a fair amount of small talk. She didn't know how Lewis was going to start the very topic that this dinner was made for. She looked at him, glancing at her father briefly. She couldn't help but notice Crystal. Was... was Crystal giving her a look? Did she realize something. Oh great, she just hoped her sister wouldn't mention anything before Lewis had a chance to.

Although he probably hadn't been making the smartest moves, socially speaking, Martin still could tell when his daughters were excited about something. From Acacia's glowing face to Crystal's knowing look, even he couldn't miss the hints that something life-changing was about to happen to his eldest daughter.

He had a fairly good idea as to what it could be. He wasn't going to make a jump to that conclusion, lest of all he was wrong.

Crystal was miserable. And it wasn't just because of this dinner. It was more of what she'd been born. Being what she was could usually be played off and she could get a joke out of it. Ever since that article had come out late last month, she'd been... she didn't know the word. She didn't want to think of what she was thinking. It wasn't the place nor time to think about something that in all likelihood, probably wouldn't happen.

Trying to not think about it was making her think harder. She was half-vampire. They were probably after specific half-breeds. Half-vampire and half-veela.

The mental shake wasn't making her focus on the now so she gave herself a physical one. Probably looked odd, but she was already the one who used her half-breed status to scare people who insulted her, her family, or her friends. Probably wasn't much difference

Crystal focused on Lewis and Acacia. Before she could decide she probably shouldn't talk honestly, when will she learn? she opened her mouth and out spilled the words.

'Are you going to ask to propose to my sister?' Her tone was sarcastic, but she was completely serious about her words.

Crystal is half-vampire, your character is most certainly aware of this.

Acacia watched her sister shake her head at random, and raised an eyebrow. She had to wonder what was on Crystal's mind. But, she didn't say anything. They would obviously talking later. That was not up for debate. She didn't know what she could do. She worried for her sister all of the time, and it was becoming a regular default of hers.

She noticed her sister was about to say something, and watched her with slight concern. She couldn't help but mentally plea that her sister not say something stupid. She then gave her sister a look at what Crystal had said. She glanced between her father and Lewis, and then started to think on what her sister said. She grew slightly hopeful, and looked at Lewis with a questioning look.
