"Are you always this forward?" He asked teasingly since it would be a very short thread if he just ignored her entirely. — Tobin Cartwright in Take A Peek
Did you know? Churchgoers and worshippers had to endure a foul stench during prayers due to the amount of bodies often stored within the vaults of churches and chapels.
Happy birthday! This letter is criminally belated, I know! I am a horrible friend! Do forgive me - August did not begin smoothly for me and I was caught up with personal matters. I know that it doesn't excuse me, but I still hope you will be able to forgive me!
I make it a point to remember all of my friends' birthdays!
It's nice at Evelyn's! My room is smaller, but we have a larger garden. And the sea is near, so I can sometimes go for walks there. I've always liked the sea, even if I can't swim very well. Evelyn is also the sweetest. We weren't very close growing up but now that she's the only (adult) sister left to me... I'm glad that I have her.
How is your sister doing? Did you find her a husband yet?
Still no husband for Efigenia, and now my mother is here. I suspect that we may be staying here longer than I originally thought. I'm glad that you're getting along well with Mrs. Abercrombie - being near the sea sounds nice, too!
Your mother came to Britain? Maybe your parents are secretly planning on moving here forever! I hope that's not the case, because I know you'd hate it. At the same time, I'm happy you'll get to stay longer!
I'm sure you'll find someone for your sister. Perhaps I could help you! Have you introduced her to my cousin, Mr. Elmer Macmillan? I daresay that they'd make a good match. He loves dark and dreary and dramatic poems. He'd probably find her... taste appealing! There's also my other cousin, Mr. Charles Macmillan. Mr. Enoch Rosier is young and eligible and he's dark haired, besides. Or Mr. Altair Shafiq!
Your company is the one thing making this country bearable! No offense to Britain, I suppose, but it's no Brazil.
Mr. Macmillan sounds like a good candidate - is he weird? He sounds weird. I'm sure he'd like Effy. Are we related to Rosier, too? And Shafiq? I just assume that I am related to everyone you're related to, which seems to be half the purebloods in Britain.
He is weird. We should totally introduce him to your sister, I'm sure they'd make a fine match!
I don't know if I'm related to Mr. Rosier and Mr. Shafiq. Or rather, how, because like you said all we purebloods are related. My cousin Cassius' (have you met him?) mother was a Rosier.
I wish I was able to attend balls so I could help you. That won't be until Christmas-time at the earliest, however. Mourning etiquette. Is it that bad in Brazil?
