NOVEMBER 6TH 1887
SUSPECT ARRESTED IN "JACK-O-LANTERN MURDERER" CASE
HALLOWEEN MURDER MYSTERY SOLVED? THE ANSWER ISN'T SO CLEAR. |
![]() O n the 4th of November, the auror department took Mr. Pennifold into their headquarters for questioning, and late last evening they announced that he would be charged in the murder of the three women on Halloween night. Following a night of dancing and parties across London, three women were found decapitated with their heads stuffed inside magically-enlarged turnips. Witness reports and clues found at the crime scene lead investigators to the home of Mr. Chester Pennifold and his wife, Mrs. Deidre Pennifold. While Mr. Pennifold has been officially charged for the crimes, aurors are saying that Mrs. Pennifold was not involved in the murderers and therefore will not face any charges. Upon further investigation, investigators discovered that Mr. Pennifold had taken a romantic interest in all three of the murdered women, but was rejected by all three. He and his wife, Mrs. Deidre Pennifold, were married last June, but were said to be unhappy. Mrs. Pennifold revealed to investigators that her husband had become increasingly distant since they married, and had even heard from a house-keeper that he'd been writing unsent letters to the three women who have now been murdered. _____________________________________________________________ |
Investigators have named jealousy and revenge as motives for the murders, but there is still some questions regarding how the murders were committed. Mr. Pennifold has not yet confessed to the murders, and his wife stands by a claim that her husband was at home during the time when one of the witnesses claimed to see him with one of the murder victims. However, interrogators have been standing by their claims that Mr. Pennifold's emotional state and attitude during questioning, as well a his unwillingness to cooperate at certain times, leads them to believe in his guilt. Two of the three ladies remain unidentified by authorities, as no wands were present at the crime scenes. Medical professionals and investigators are working diligently to identify the bodies and contact any potential family members or guardians of the young ladies. Not much is known about either young lady except that they appear to be in their early twenties and possess dark hair and light eyes. Anyone with more information regarding the murders or identities of these two young ladies are asked to please contact the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. AUTHOR: IAN PENGLOSS |
