    My dear Andromache,

I can scarcely believe it to be so but I find myself putting pen to parchment to offer you my sympathies once again. Perhaps somebody somewhere has placed a curse upon your family? If I could root them out I would do so and save you the pain of this new blow, but sadly even the powers of the Wizengamot cannot help abysmal luck.

Your brother struck me as a kind man and his presence will be missed, but I am quite sure that it will not be for long. If he has half your fortitude his recovery is sure to be a speedy one.

On a more pleasant note, are you attending the Quidditch match at the Sanditon? I believe your nephew is a keen follower? I may attend the match, but sadly circumstances keep me from staying for the entire weekend - perhaps we might find time for a walk along the beach though?

    Yours,
    Henry.

    Henry,

Your sympathies are tremendously kind but hopefully unwarranted; we can only pray that my brother recovers. I’m afraid the loss of a second brother may be difficult to swallow.

I will indeed be at the Sanditon Resort—I am loath to leave Mrs. Pettigrew’s side, even if I would prefer to avoid the affair altogether—but I recommend you keep a wide berth. I seem to be a magnet for bad luck and I would prefer not to see you drowned in the ocean.

    Andromache.

    My dear Andromache,

I can assure you I am a strong swimmer.

As it turns out I am called away for that weekend - my mother has decided she had need of me although for what reason I cannot begin to fathom - so the joys of Quidditch will not be mine. It is a pity, I was rather looking forward to braving the beach and perhaps meeting your son once more? I assume he will be there as I know what a keen interest he has in the sport. Please do give him my regards if your paths cross.

In December a small market comes to Cornwall for the Christmas season and thoug it is nothing extraordinary it is rather charming and I wondered if you would care to join me for the afternoon there? Perhaps the 12th would suit you?

    Yours,
    Henry.
