    A Tea Party
    #1

    Mrs. Lestrange,

My dear, I write to apologize for my daughter’s appalling behaviour. It was not at all befitting of a young llady—least of all one in my care!—and I hope to reassure you that she will be deftly dealt with. In the interests of making amends, given our family ties, I wonder if you might come to the school tomorrow afternoon for tea. I know Irvingly is assuredly out of the way for you, but I think it would be the easiest way to put this unpleasantness behind us.

I look forward to your reply,

    Mrs. Olivia R. Pendergast

    Dear Mrs. Pendergast,

You need not apologize, though I am pleased to hear Miss Ellory Pendergast is to be reprimanded. It would be my pleasure to come to tea tomorrow and I shall look forward to it. I am sure it will be a far more pleasant affair than my last invitation to tea.

    Yours Sincerely,
    Mrs. Lestrange
