    Orestes Lestrange Dies in Ministry Mayhem

    During the collapse of the Ministry offices Mr. Orestes Lestrange, Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot, was crushed by rubble. He seemed to be very cheerful before being pulled out of the rubble, but afterwards died almost immediately.

    Mr. Lestrange was predeceased by his parents, Klaus and Silvia Lestrange; his wife, Elda Lestrange, and his youngest son, Aric Lestrange. He is survived by six children and a variety of uncles, aunts, and cousins.

    The recent events the Ministry of Magic have left countless families forever changed. We at The Daily Prophet would like to take a moment to recognize those who have left us during the wake of this tragedy, and ask all of our readers to offer up their prayers to the families and loved ones of those here named:

    Gareth Simpson, b. 1864, Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Son of Mr. Bernard Simpson, Director of Hogsmeade Hospital.

    Alexander Trimble, b. 1843, visitor to the Ministry and freelance lawyer. Son of Mr. William Trimble.

    Emmerich Westenburg, b. 1851, Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes. Son of Mr. Amandus Westenburg and his second wife, Felicity.

    Georg Westenburg, b. 1852, Department of Magical International Co-operation. Son of Mr. Amandus Westenburg and his third wife, Catherine.

    Alexei Volkov, b. 1846, visitor to the Ministry and owner of Ivana Memorial Asylum. Survived by two daughters, Zoya and Svetlana.

    The list is, alas, not exhaustive, with new passings each day in our local hospitals.

    While these losses are sad, we must take comfort in the fact that there were many more survivors, and offer our best wishes to those still recovering in hospital.

    INTRODUCING MISS RILEY

    Daughter Born to James and Felicity Riley

    Mr. and Mrs. James Riley are pleased to announce the arrival of their first daughter and second child, Miss Grace Florence Riley, born on the twenty-fourth day of March, just before sunrise. Both mother and daughter are in the most excellent of health.

    Mr. Riley has, once again, taken the reins of Irvingly Infirmary whilst his wife recuperates. The christening will be held later this month, at the Church of St. Fergus.
