    "TO THE MOON"

    I DON'T HATE IT

Many of our readers may have seen the play advertised in the esteemed* magazine Witch Weekly's "Can Mrs. Emma Macmillan Kill People With her Mind?" article. The play is running at the de Montfault Theater from February 22nd to March 18th, and I had the fortune to see it yesterday evening.

The premise of the play is this: a couple decides that they are going to fly to the moon, for reasons unknown. Their quest to find a way there brings their families together as the people who care about them try to save them from what they believe is a doomed venture.

*I use the word 'esteemed' in the loosest sense possible.

The good: solid writing, decent acting, good costumes. The play never made me consider self-immolating which is more than can be said for many of the things I experience in the name of writing reviews for this newspaper.

The bad: The leading pair did not seem to want anything to do with one another. Though this did not detract too much from the play itself - the cast as an ensemble and the interactions of the couple with their families were far more interesting - it did distract me somewhat from the scenes that they shared.

All in all, I think you should see it. There are only two days left, and who knows when I'll see something else that I don't hate.
